It's physically a real double crossover, wired as two blocks. There is another turnout coming in to one track just after it that is included in the block. On the panel, the alignment is horizontal.

Ken, Scott, I have not seen any issues with block routing based on rotation. For reference, the legs of a cross-over are called A thru D, starting with the blue/magenta connector and moving clockwise.

Scott, Yes, the set head/mast only occurs at a block boundary. That's why you don't see it on your crossover. When laying out the crossover, it can become twisted as it moves into place. I've found

Since you say Windows Device Manager shows the Locobuffer-USB is listed no issue with the device driver loading then it is either not the right COM port selected or something else is holding it up..
