Locked Cannot get JMRI to communicate with DCS100 Command Station

HI All,

I recently replaced a failed hard drive in my HP Pavilion dv6 laptop with a SSD, re-installed Windows 7 and now I cannot get JMRI to work!

I downloaded and installed JMRI V 4.18 and when it loads it does say on the bottom of the screen "service mode programmer loconet is online" and "operations mode programmer loconet is online" in green letters and "programmer status: idle". At the top of the screen there is a power button that is olive in color with Unknown next to it. Programming mode is paged and the programming track radio button is on.

When I try to ID a new loco it gives the message "stopping due to error: timeout talking to command station (306). I tried 2 different locos just to be sure.

Windows 7 Device Manager says the RR-CirKits loco buffer-usb is working fine. Java is 1.8.0_240.

I did try different usb ports but I get the same error.

JMRI worked just fine before the hard drive failed and all I did was install the SSD and reloaded Win 7 from the HP recovery dvds and then JMRI. I also reloaded the ESU Lok-Programmer and it works perfectly. No changes were made to the layout wiring at all.

I can read cv values from the loco on the programming track with a DT402 throttle plugged into a UP5 panel with no problem.

I do not remember what version of JMRI was on the old drive.

Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Thanks for any help!
