Feedback on Quirky Starting Behavior? 6
Hey all! I have a 1998 PC800 with about 36k miles. I love commuting to work on him, but he has a quirk that has been cropping up more often that really needs addressing. I've not been able to narrow down the cause, and would be interested to hear if anyone has had this issue and what was done about it. When ready to go, I'll pull the choke all the way out and start him up. He pretty much always turns over without a problem. On good days his revs will move up to around 3k, sometimes a little higher, I'll let him warm for 60 seconds or so depending on outside temperature, then I'll push the choke back in, revs will drop to about 1,200, and we ride off. Gas mileage is good, usually north of 45mpg. On not-so-good days, he'll turn over, but then his revs will either climb to only 2k--or sometimes reach 3k then drop down--and then severely drop to less than 1k after a variable amount of time, maybe a few seconds, maybe 20 to 30 seconds. After this, many times he chugs sadly at 600-800 revs then dies, and refuses to turn over again. Opening the throttle at all kills the meager revs and very often the engine. If I let him sit for a bit after dying (several hours), it's like he resets himself and will get started up, and we go through the process again. (Once, I was able to get him to turn back over after dying, and blipped the throttle in frustration--and it's almost like something unstuck and he was back to a happy 3k revs with the choke pulled out.) Other times he revs back up to 3k after threatening to die, and then we're good--he's never quit after getting warmed up. Adjusting the choke cable earlier or later doesn't seem to influence whether the engine exhibits the behavior. He's had a couple of rounds of Sea Foam in the fuel tank, but I'm reticent to dive into the engine myself without having a decent target of attack. I'm fairly mechanically inclined, but this is my first and only carbureted vehicle and I've not had any EFI car engines act this way. Ring any bells for those with more experience? Appreciate the community, Lindsey

Center stand 20
I've been enjoying my PC800 for a few thousand miles but I'm embarrassed to say I've never put it on the center stand. None of my other bikes have a center stand so I'm new at that. Either I'm doing something wrong or you need the strength of a gorilla? I'm about to put her away for the winter. I'd like to put it on the stand so I can change the oil and also have it perched nice and stable during the down season. What am I missing about center stands?

1990 PC800 for sale
Its time for an old man to thin the heard. 1990 PC800 located in Erie, PA $1200. 43950 miles. It has some battle scars (a few scrapes and scuff marks). I bought on consignment from a Honda dealer so I have no precious history. I have installed stainless brake and clutch lines, volt meter, heated grips and Clearview windshield. New battery and starter relay. Get this before I have to put it in winter storage and I will include a box of "stuff" which includes rebuild kits for carbs and master cylinders, rear brake shoes, factory windshield, another Clearview windshield which has been modified a bit, new taillight assy plus spare MIRRORS.

1995 PC 800 (54,570 mi) for sale - Lincoln, NE
Hey all - I've been a PC 800 owner for a little over a year and live here in Lincoln, NE. Was hoping to keep this bike (my first) for a bit longer, but we're 'being sent' overseas so I gotta sell her. Not in a huge hurry. We don't leave until next year, but thought I'd throw it up here first. From FB add last year before I bought it, "most of the things that need to be done to an older bike have already been done! New fork seals, carb has been totally rebuilt, and a new battery! All work and maintenance was done professionally." I haven't done anything else on it since then, but it does leak just a tiny bit of oil - I have to add about a Tablespoon every 5th fill up or so. Runs great. Bought it for $2,400 last year, but willing to negotiate.

DFW TX area 95 PC800 For Sale 6
Thanks to everyone that reached out about the bike, including it's new owner and newer member to the community. I sincerely appreciate the inquiries and the encouragement. The gentleman that bought the bike had been watching this site for awhile and reached out to me about coming to see it. He became the proud new owner just yesterday (10-10-24). I'm sure he'll continue to learn from you fine folks about how to keep the bike running for another 100K+ and thank you all again for the pleasure of being a part of the Coastie community. Y'all stay safe out there! Bmaughan Howdy fellow PCer's. I wanted to post here first as I'd love to have this bike go to another true PC fan. I bought it 3 years ago from the 2nd owner. He bought the bike in 97, was a former jeweler and kept meticulous records including every single fill up. I bought it with 92K and have put another 11K on it. All the tupperware is there and the bike is in really good shape. New tires front and back, new oil and filter. Just bought a 24 Honda and need to make room in the garage. Battery and charger, heated grips, intermittent headlight when on bright in the daylight, brake lights flash 3x, givi rack with top box, oversized windscreen and a really nice cruise control. For full price, I will include the Corbin seat that is still in great shape. I found the original seats to much more comfortable and perfectly preserved in the Corbin box for 20+ years. Asking $1500. It does leak a little oil and has started to leak some antifreeze. I have not dug into the issue as neither of those are serious leaks. Located in Ft. Worth. Please see pics and whistle with any questions. Total miles at 103K and I do still ride regularly. Thanks.

New to the PC800 world 3
Salutations, It’s been almost a month since I picked up my 1996 PC800. Thanks to this community, I’ve been able to do some maintenance items and get her running! Took her out this evening for the first time since the test ride when I picked it up. The tires were 10 years old, the air cleaner was black, the sub air filter had long since disintegrated, and the seat cover is still mostly gorilla tape. I re-sealed the forks but I’m not sure if that made a difference or they already leaked out all their oil ?. At this point I think the $800 I paid might have been a bit too generous. Then the regular stuff-changed the oil, flushed the coolant, bled brakes and the clutch, swapped the fuel filter (glad I pre ordered that sidewinder hose as the existing hose split on me almost immediately), rebuilt the peacock, still have some work to do on the windscreen and I ordered the wrong washer for the drain on the final drive oil so that’ll be done here in a couple days when I get the part I just ordered tonite. The night I brought it home I dropped it while unloading and broke the previously intact left mirror. The glass broke and I replaced it with the best I could find on eBay and it seems to fit alright (a bit small and I had to use some foam mounting tape because I couldn’t pressure fit it but it works). Under closer inspection it looks like the right mirror has had a similar treatment but they just glued the smaller mirror on top of the broken one. So if anyone has a good line on some spherical glass replacements that might be a future investment. So all to say thank you already for the many of you who have been so helpful this far and I’m glad to see if I can contribute.

Rear wheel alignment
So I have replaced my ujoint and got everything back together but I've noticed now it feels like I'm riding down the street slanted a little the back end of feels like it wants to slip to the right. Also the left side trunk storage has gotten worn through by the tire. Looking at it the tire is not centered. It is further to the left than the right is there anyway to correct this or did I do something wrong when I put it back together ? Btw I have the correct tire on the back.

Daytime Running Lights/ Turn Indicator Switch Question 5
I recently needed to replace my turn indicator switch and with the new one installed, I noticed the daytime running lights are not on anymore. No I'm wondering whether I accidently picked up a switch from the 97-98 model years (although the self-cancelling is still working) or whether there could be a defect in the wiring. Did all PC800 have the daytime running light function with the indicators or was that dropped at one point? So, I'm wondering whether this could be fixed in any other way or need to find and replace with the 89-96 switch. Any pointer would be helpful. Thanks! Found these part numbers: 1989: 35200-MR5-003 superseded to 35200-MR5-871 1990 - 1996: 35200-MR5-871 1997 - 1998: 35200-MR5-A31

Corbin fitment 5
I have seen a couple posts about fitment issues with the Corbin seats but no answer how to fit it! The front seat fits with no issues but I can’t get the holes in the rear to align. Any suggestions? 1990 bike… seat came of a 1989 model… ??♂?

3D scans of left and right fairing pocket covers and associated lock and button
Howdy Coasters, Dave T kindly provided me with 3D scans of the right and left fairing pocket covers and associated lock and button. The relevant part numbers are: 64223-MR5-010 L POCKET COVER 64234-MR5-000 KNOB L POCKET COVER 64225 MR5 010 R Pocket Cover 64227-MR5-010 LOCK POCKET COVER And they are available at the following links as ZIP files with STL files inside. https://www.douglasvanbossuyt.com/2024/08/23/3d-scan-of-the-left-fairing-pocket-cover-for-the-pc800-motorcycle/ https://www.douglasvanbossuyt.com/2024/08/21/3d-scan-of-the-right-fairing-pocket-cover-for-the-pc800-motorcycle/ I should also mention that I have some other 3D scans and info on where to get 3D scans of things like one of the crash guards, the mirrors, and etc. I'm expecting to get some more scans from folks soon and I'll keep posting them to my website. You will be able to find the links to all of the 3D scans in my big list of links if you search "3D" on this page: https://www.douglasvanbossuyt.com/personal/hobbies/motorcycle/honda-pacific-coast-pc800-links-and-information/ And apologies for anyone I haven't responded to in the last several months. I've been ill and busy with work. I know there have been some messages about the PC800 buy/sell page that I have not responded to and there might be others. I'm trying to figure out what to do about the buy/sell page (do I keep trying to make it work, do I shut it down and redirect people here, do I do something else) -- I'm not sure how useful it has been the last few years for people to actually buy and sell PCs versus other avenues. I hope all is well with everyone in the PC800 community! Cheers, Douglas in Monterey

1998 PC800 for sale 17
Hello everyone. I have a 1998 PC800 for sale. 41,827 miles. I've put a couple of hundred miles on it. All body panels in very good shape, just faded. Brakes and clutch have been drained, filled with new fluid and bled. New tires with less than 200 miles on them. A little rough running when cold but runs fine after warming up. I also have the VT1100 final drive to install. I live in East Idaho. I'm also posting in it on Craigslist. More pictures available upon request. Just not riding it much and no sense having it sit around when someone else can enjoy it. $1000. 208-360-1096 Thanks for looking. Paul

Left Muffler Cover 2
I have had a few older bikes in my past but not one with such a limited run! Parts are very tough to acquire it seems... I sourced a rear taillight that I did not realize was busted when I bought it and a real left turn indicator... Ebay and Google are my friends! I now am looking for a Left muffler cover. If you have one please hit me up! Good to be back on this bike! Thanks so much! Scott Part# 18415-MR5-000
