Re: Front tyre choice in Ausatralia!
My experience with getting tyres in New Zealand is that, if you can wait a few weeks, the retailer can get just about any tyre you want from an importer.

Re: Front tyre choice in Ausatralia!
I replaced a 120/80 17 with a 120/70 17 (radial) and it worked flawlessly with a 140/80 15 (bias ply). The radial on the front was a huge improvement. Greatly improved ride and handling.

Whatever you decided, be sure to replace the valve stems too!? The rubber on most all of these bikes is getting old.? I had mine split and vent on the highway at 70mph.? A quick check of the other

I used this tire that does not leave much room between the fender and the

Re: Front tyre choice in Ausatralia!
I actually thought 120/80 17 was stock front. I put a 120/70 17 Metzler on front with a Metzler ME888 on rear… 1990 also…

Re: Front tyre choice in Ausatralia!
Stock size is 120/80 x 17.
A 120/70 x 17 is a radial so mixing tires isn't a good idea. 110/80 x 17
bias is the best/most stable option in my opinion.

1989 PC for sale
Good day Coasters,
I have lost my inside storage space for my 89 PC and need to sell it. Short story- all plastics are good but the entire bike was repainted by the original owner in a yellow pearl.

Re: Runs Rich
There should be a sharp ketone odor from the exhaust. Easily recognized if you have smelled it before.
PC800 is known to be jetted lean. May barely run without an air filter. Clogged air filter

Re: Runs Rich
Gas mileage is right for a correctly running PC800, (assuming you meant
47MPG).
When started up with the required choke you will smell a rich mixture as
the PC800 does not have a Cat

Re: Runs Rich
Throttle is fine on acceleration and return
Get constant 47 mph.
You can smell the richness when you start it & runs?

Re: Runs Rich
You get an A+ on that report. Thats why I usually end up doing everything.
I did post a contact for a very good carb rebuilder. He is on Ebay. You put
the order in and he will contact you.

Re: Runs Rich
They run lean from the factory. There's a mix tune procedure in the shop manual. You can remove the turn limiting caps on the mix screws by holding a soldering iron to their heads and gently pulling

Re: Chains or locks - do you use one?
I realize such a unique, older motorcycle is not going to be too high up the list for theft :D a sound alarm seems like a practical option especially with the wheels all covered up.

Re: Chains or locks - do you use one?
The placement is something I've been thinking about the most. Rear wheel makes the most sense - front wheel and disc are covered by the plastic. running it through the center stand is a good idea.

USPS International Mail honestly isn't that bad. I once drunk mailed a NZ friend a cowboy hat from Texas.
