New to the PC800 world
Salutations,
?
It’s been almost a month since I picked up my 1996 PC800. Thanks to this community, I’ve been able to do some maintenance items and get her running! Took her out this evening for the first time since the test ride when I picked it up.
?
The tires were 10 years old, the air cleaner was black, the sub air filter had long since disintegrated, and the seat cover is still mostly gorilla tape. ?I re-sealed the forks but I’m not sure if that made a difference or they already leaked out all their oil ?. At this point I think the $800 I paid might have been a bit too generous. ?
Then the regular stuff-changed the oil, flushed the coolant, bled brakes and the clutch, swapped the fuel filter (glad I pre ordered that sidewinder hose as the existing hose split on me almost immediately), rebuilt the peacock, still have some work to do on the windscreen and I ordered the wrong washer for the drain on the final drive oil so that’ll be done here in a couple days when I get the part I just ordered tonite.?
The night I brought it home I dropped it while unloading and broke the previously intact left mirror. The glass broke and I replaced it with the best I could find on eBay and it seems to fit alright (a bit small and I had to use some foam mounting tape because I couldn’t pressure fit it but it works). Under closer inspection it looks like the right mirror has had a similar treatment but they just glued the smaller mirror on top of the broken one. So if anyone has a good line on some spherical glass replacements that might be a future investment. ?
?
So all to say thank you already for the many of you who have been so helpful this far and I’m glad to see if I can contribute.?

开云体育Years ago when I replaced the broken glass on a mirror I just went to a local auto glass repair shop. I removed the glass mount from the mirror and the cut the glass to shape.Tim Davies Seneca Falls, NY USA YankeeSmuggler II - 1998 PC800 260,000 miles On Sep 21, 2024, at 11:40?PM, lazerdash2 via groups.io <lazerdash2@...> wrote:
