Re: backing up iphone

The problem with "upgrading the OS" is that it means buying a new computer. I cannot put anything later than Mojave 10.14.6 on my Mac and even my Windows PC won't work with Windows 11. I think Apple and Microsoft have shares in PC manufacturing companies.

Backing up iphone

I¡¯ll think about it again; I prefer not to be beholded to any site so I tend not to join ongoing auto payments. Mu husband decided to join so for two of us it would be an extra $2.00/mo. almost. ?Doesn¡¯t sound like much but I paid for these external drives so I¡¯d prefer to have the backups there. Anyway, I¡¯ll give it more thought.

Thanks. Ellen

Wifi extender

After speaking with Spectrum again (I still have to call HP again), the agent suggested I get a wifi extender. I don¡¯t want to rent from Spectrum and would rather buy one. I¡¯ve checked out some and there are a lot and with different ranges etc¡ Do any iomuggers have some suggestions?

Considering until I got this new router and moden, (and then had to get a new hp printer,) I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM PRINTING FROM ANYWHERE IN MY HOUSE!. Now not only can I not use Spectrum to print, I have to (as I have said) need to use a wifi address from the printer itself while I am standing in front of the printer. Spectrum agent said I should always use spectrum. He reset my router. It worked. ONCE. Next time I tried to print, didn¡¯t work. He said I could go onto the Web site and reset the router there. Couldn¡¯t figure it out. Why should I have to do that everytime I print? I¡¯d rather change the wifi route. So I am hoping an extended wifi defice might help me out, but Which one? By the way he checked out my intenet and said it all looks good from Spectrum¡¯s end.

Thanks for your help¡

Ellen

Re: backing up iphone

It would be if Apple would accept linking my credit card to my wife's (or even my own) Apple ID. The problem is the country has to be the same in THREE places: AppStore, billing address and card issuer. And Apple doesn't seem to use the card issuers' own apps for authentication.

I would use either iMazing for Mac and/or iMazing for Windows. You need to play with the backup location, but you can use any drive.
