Ben, it is a moot point for me. I don¡¯t have all the hardware needed to try it. I would if I did, for sure. But I can live without it. And if i run into an occasion, I will definitely try this.?

This indicates to me they are referring to any iPhone from 5 to 14 on either end of the cable+adapter. That¡¯s why I linked to the older camera adapter for your 4S, assuming it¡¯s compatible with a phone-to-phone transfer. I¡¯m having trouble verifying this compatibility.
I realize this probably isn¡¯t worth discussing since you already completed this transfer. Just wanted to outline the options.
Hope you can find a conversion app you like. ? On May 3, 2025, at 20:06, Brent via groups.io <whodo678@...> wrote:

Anyway, as for unit conversion, maybe the built-in Calculator will satisfy your needs. Tap the calculator button in the bottom left to toggle it.
I¡¯m not on the bleeding edge either, though maybe closer than you. My Macs are 2¨C4 years old and I use an iPhone 13 mini, to which I¡¯m holding on dearly until Apple hopefully offers a smaller body iPhone. The current models are monsters in my hands!
? Way to think out of the box, but the receiving iPhone does not qualify, it is an XR. It is running the current iOS. Since I am on a fixed income, I won¡¯t be upgrading my phone for some time.
You are viewing from a more current position than I am. I am well behind the bleeding edge, since Apple now considers anything older than 5 OS generations obsolete, and won¡¯t support it.?
Like Charles, I mourn the loss of an app that is ?no longer available. My app was Convert, it was a calculator app that had many built-in conversion tables, that when I was working used dozens of times a day when I was working. The rest of the apps, I have found apps that are close enough to substitute.?

?Did you read down the page? There are options for older models, too. I don¡¯t know which is the oldest iPhone to support a direct transfer. If your 4S is included, you would just have needed the USB adapter from Apple¡¯s?. ? Thank you.?
That is a nice feature for the iPhone 14 and forward.? On May 3, 2025, at 08:42, Ben Rosenthal via <ben@...> wrote:

Ben, I upgraded my iPhone using my iCloud Account and several of my favorite apps transferred, but no longer worked. Granted, I went from the iPhone 4S to XR, something like iOS 9 to 13, and 30-pin to Lightning. Why does transferring it by USB make a difference and can you reference any documentation? You offer good advice, but for some reason I want more info. ?BrentOn my iPhone XrOn May 2, 2025, at 23:05, Ben Rosenthal via <ben@...> wrote:
?Or, as I commented earlier, maybe you won¡¯t. If you transfer your data from one iPhone to another over a USB cable, apps transfer directly rather than redownloading from the App Store.
