Re: [IC-7000] Re: running hot.
Haven't had an issue. Mine runs warm, but not excessively hot. The one in the shack has run 24x7 for most of the past few years.

Re: [IC-7000] FM flickering green recieve light
If you have the default setup, the knob behind the volume is the squelch in FM and RF gain for other modes

Re: [IC-7000] Re: running hot.
I don't know where you are, but mine has a 1 year warranty from Icom, and
an added 2 year warranty from the merchant. Should allow me to "burn it in"

Re: Finals idle current adjustment - does it sounds like my 2m finals are blown?
Just to clarify: The FET on the small board is the driver (Q504). The pre-drivers are Q101, Q102. The first adjustment in section 4-4 sets the Driver idle bias. The remaining steps adjust the PA

That's what I run mobile (1 for my 7000 and 1 for my 8800). I use the
unamplified one and it will handle 12W of audio, it is very loud and very
clear. You can pick them up unused for $5 or so at

Re: FM flickering green recieve light
As I remember it, the IC-7000 has a default setting which makes the "RF GAIN / SQL" knob act as an RF Gain knob in CW/SSB mode, and as a _squelch_ knob in FM mode.

I'm using a R/S 10-w amplified-speaker. Works rather well, but don't know
if they're still available. It's mounted on the top-of-the-dash 'dish',
which I cut holes into to allow the audio & DC
