Re: FT8
Hi Pete, If you want a quick and simple solution get a Signalink USB. They support the 7000 with a special rig cable. You simply put the rig in USB, and the Signalink USB will work with any digital

Re: FT8
I use it as my primary FT8 rig. It works...also use Signalink. Never push it more than 25 watts and works FB. ed WX2R -- Edward J. Efchak Customers by Design LLC 802-282-6700 www.customersbydesign.com

Re: ci-v usb not working on w10 but works on w11
Can't comment for W11, but on W10, I had to force the installation of a older version of the driver to get my USB interface to talk to the radio. W10 still insists the new one is better and changes

Re: 7000 SDR
I have done this when I travel. * You need an SDR.? I use an SDRPlayRSP1a with SDRuno software ($100) * USB cable from SDR to laptop (printer type) * CAT control cable to connect CI-V jack on radio

Re: ci-v usb not working on w10 but works on w11
Danny, Looks like the I get no response from the radio on the Laptop. Running out of ideas. One of our club members has a different USB/CI-V powered externally. I will have to borrow it to try with

Re: ci-v/usb interface not working on W10 but ok on W11
The two possibilities I see are 1. Check the com port that the W10 machine has assigned the ftdi chip. It may be conflicting with something else, or just different from PC. W11 pc. 2. Try a different

Re: ci-v usb not working on w10 but works on w11
Thanks Danny, but I don't think these programs will work with USB to serial converter like FTDI. I downloaded the CI-V Scout and will give it a try later.

Re: 7000 SDR
Ken, Sounds like you¡¯re being asked to provide the eye candy of a full pan adapter , which the IC7000 can¡¯t easily provide and it¡¯s not a SDR anyways . Best to maybe borrow one of the true SDR

Re: 7000 SDR
Some have done this with an RTL-SDR dongle tied to the IF and HDSDR to display it, like here [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcA9b4gWEbM | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcA9b4gWEbM ] You have so

Re: ci-v usb not working on w10 but works on w11
DTR/RTS are not used in CI-V as it is a "one wire" physical layer. There is no hardware flow control at the radio. I would manually set the baud rate on the radio to 9600 or 19200 rather than leave it

Re: ci-v usb not working on w10 but works on w11
Well, duplicated the port settings to Win10 from Win11 and still can't talk to the radio. I tried lowering the baud rate from 19.2 to 9600 and no change. Tried different protocols but the one that

Re: ci-v usb not working on w10 but works on w11
Hi Adam, So the Win10 is a different machine right? Go into Device Manager and note the COM port number in Win 11. Then do the same on the Win10 machine. I'll bet on Win10 that Windows gave the port a
