I have done this when I travel.
- You need an SDR.? I use an SDRPlayRSP1a with SDRuno software ($100)
- USB cable from SDR to laptop (printer type)
- CAT control cable to connect CI-V jack on radio to the laptop via USB (Valley Enterprises; $25)
- An MFJ-1708b-SDR; and SDR RF sensing switch to disconnect the SDR when you transmit or you will brick the SDR ($139)
- I also bought and am relay switch to detect RF transmission using ACC jack on radio and connect it to the MFJ-1708b.? You may not need this since the MFJ will detect RF and switch off transmission thru the SDR. ($35)
