Hi Pete,
If you want a quick and simple solution get a Signalink USB. They support the 7000 with a special rig cable.
You simply put the rig in USB, and the Signalink USB will work with any digital software (the Signalink also keeps the rig in USB mode when it's on).
I use WSJT-X for FT8, and have it linked to N1MM and DXLab for logging.
Works great.
