Re: IC-7000 Remote
Thanks Joe. I do have a Signalink USB that I used wir the 7000 when it was
my main radio. Perhaps you are right through, there may be better radios
suited for my need rather than trying to shoehorn

Re: IC-7000 Remote
Richard,
It would certainly be possible to configure an IC-7000 for remote control.
I have remoted an IC-7200 successfully, but it has an USB port.
Icom RS-BA1 software, or HamRadio Deluxe are options

Re: Rumor mills time!!! 7000/7100 replacement?
Gary,
I was a big fan of my IC-7000 and when the IC-7100 came out I was unimpressed with the wedge control head. Fast forward a few years and I am looking for a new mobile rig having repurposed the

Re: Rumor mills time!!! 7000/7100 replacement?
I agree that the 7000 is a perfect mobile HF rig. That is what it was designed for and what it¡¯s successor should be. Small is better.
The launch at the Dayton Hamvention featured young ladies in

Re: Rumor mills time!!! 7000/7100 replacement?
I don't think that the IC7100 is going to last much longer. It has had to be redesigned to be able to source many of the parts that are now obsolete and in the arena of unobtainium.
That said it also

Re: Rumor mills time!!! 7000/7100 replacement?
The 7000 was perfect for mobile use. Having the head unit up high enough to be usable. The internals of the 7100 were/are a step in up in performance with the DSP but the head unit was an abomination

Re: Rumor mills time!!! 7000/7100 replacement?
As long as we are speculating on new products, here are some thoughts:
For recreational purposes the QRP IC-705 is great and I appreciate ICOM for
inventing it. But QRP is not compatible with

Re: Rumor mills time!!! 7000/7100 replacement?
I believe the reason for not having an HDMI port is the royalties that must be paid, I believe for each unit manufactured.
The ICOM¡¯s generally have DVI ports for their displays. The only

Re: Rumor mills time!!! 7000/7100 replacement?
A radio similar to the IC-705, but that would use the old style tuner control so that we would not have to swap the accessories out.
Perhaps a tuner built into a remote box. I think that the main unit
