Re: IC-7000 no rx and no sound out from speaker
Late to reading this thread, but have you tried a full reset to see if that makes a difference? Other than that it may be time to troubleshoot the radio. Does it transmit on any mode into a dummy

Re: IC-7000 no rx and no sound out from speaker
You need to check transmit. You said you had no mic so put the radio on CW, turn on break in, insert a plug into the key jack. With dummy load, do u get a carrier? This will narrow it down to TX

Re: IC-7000 no rx and no sound out from speaker
Hi Joe Yes checked squelch and rf gain and associated menu settings No joy so currently probing around the circuitry to see if any clues

Re: IC-7000 no rx and no sound out from speaker
I got into this thread midstream.? Did you check the setting of the SQ/RF control and the setting of Set Mode 7?? Maybe someone else covered this but it may be something simple. 73, Joe, K1ike

Re: IC-7000 no rx and no sound out from speaker
Hi Geoff Yes I will take your approach. I think the audio output is accessable and a good place to start to check for supply voltage. James Vk2vjz

Re: IC-7000 no rx and no sound out from speaker
James, I'm not a fan of the shot gun approach to fault finding. Start from a known point of trouble, in this case it's the audio output. Using the circuit schematic it would be my suggestion to start

Hi Rick Yes that's pretty much what I did . It reset everything back to defaults but still no Rx or audio Just dead Looks like I need to open it up and check all the regulators Thanks for your

Re: IC-7000 no rx and no sound out from speaker
Hi Neil Tried just about everything as you mentioned. Looks like a hardware issue . The only thing I haven't tried is a full reset

Speaker, Try headphones in sockets one on side of head, one rear. Try different modes perhaps as well. Cheers Neil ZL3ADC

Re: IC-7000 no rx and no sound out from speaker
Tried all variations of squelch and rf gain . Also if I enable voice announcements I don't get audio. Without without earphones

Re: IC-7000 no rx and no sound out from speaker
Hi Geoff Thanks for your response. Played around with squelch, rf gain and still no joy. No signal strength on s meter . I don't have a mic yet so can't test tx yet.

Re: IC-7000 no rx and no sound out from speaker
Are you sure the RF Gain control is set correctly and you are not just at full squelch? What is the current setting for the RF Gain / Squelch control? [email protected]> wrote:

Re: IC-7000 no rx and no sound out from speaker
Some things to try; Do you see any effect on the S meter bar graph when you rotate the mute/rf att knob. Set the mute/rf att. and volume to the mid 12 o'clock position Feed a modulated signal in
