Might not pass a government inspection, but shouldn’t cause symptoms.

Could be heat that has done that over time, suspect poor fuse connection

Re: shut down / restart on keying, now no power
Thank you all, vy much, for your responses. The first thing I did was examine the fuse cases. I received this radio from a friend and the power cables included seem to be OPC-025D, with a 6-pin

Re: shut down / restart on keying, now no power
I had that problem some years ago. I was using a Samlex PS with fused wires and molex connectors. Very frustrating. I shotgunned it this way: use Anderson connectors, no inline fuses and sold the

Re: shut down / restart on keying, now no power
I've had this happen to me in the past. Fuse holder connections, power
connections, even one time a defective fuse. The fuse read continuity with
a meter on ohms
but would not pass any current. I

Re: IC7000 no HF power out but VHF/UHF ok
Signal level tracing with a 'scope is the way to go, looking at the levels in and out of the driver and to the finals.
It is always possible that there is a problem past the finals as well.
Sometimes

Re: shut down / restart on keying, now no power
Hi Colin,
These things are ALWAYS caused by power input failure, which only shows
itself when you transmit. There is a poor or corroded connection in your
power supply leads. As the other posts have

Re: shut down / restart on keying, now no power
Hi Colin,
Check the fuse holder! open it, remove both fuses and clean each end, and also clean the contacts inside the holder.
That should solve your problem....

Hi Tommy
not easy to find these type of issues, check dc voltages around the final circuit, coupling capacitors and switching devices.
Good luck

Re: shut down / restart on keying, now no power
Make sure that all of the power connections are clean and tight. If the fuse holders are still in your power cable especially make sure that they are clean, bright and tight.
Also if you have a dummy

Re: IC7000 no HF power out but VHF/UHF ok
James,
All functions work on all bands for receive. Because of that I believe the
filters and switches are functioning properly.
There is no SWR, power meter or ALC meter for HF transmit at any

are there any indicators like tx power level and check current draw.
is the power being throttled ? Any heat being dissipated due to current draw? look for hot spots
