Re: IC-7000 Squelch Issues
? Did this issue ever get worked out?? I have a system doing the same thing.? Start from scratch and put frequencies in memory and works fine.? Later it looks like everything went to Tone Squelch because I can turn squelch all the OFF and the light shows there's audio, but nothing coming through the speaker.? Get on the repeater and as long as there is a good signal (like it sees the Tone Squelch signal) I get audio out.? Got nothing on HF also because there's no tone.? This is the 2nd time I've had to start from scratch and I just want to figure out how to fix it so it doesn't go to that mode any more. |

Chris - KC9AD
I just wanted to jump in here and say a big "THANK YOU" for all the great suggestions. I have had this problem in the past and I had always been able to fix it by un-plugging and re-plugging the power connector itself. That did not work this time. I had never thought of the fuses. So I re-seated the fuses (and the PowerPoles) and that fixed it.
Thank you, and 73. Chris Doutre KC9AD New River AZ |
7000 seems to change to tone squelch on rptrs
Good morning....new to the group.? I have a 7000 and run mobile, and after getting the radio set for my (new) local repeaters, all seemed to work normal (Rptr Tone only).? All of a sudden, the radio seems to go to Tone Squelch.? The display does? not show Tone Squelch, but acts as if it is.? The indication is that if I turn squelch all the way OFF, the green light for activity shows that audio is present, but I get nothing out of the speaker.? I can operate on my repeaters ok, but if I'm on the fringes of the repeater and I lose the signal, I prefer hearing the white noise to show me I'm losing the signal instead of going silent.? The one thing that MAY be of interest here is that if I got to the multi function meter on the display, it shows my AGC is wayyyyy over to the right.? Something I didn't think should be happening.? If this is what's wrong, I can't find any method in the manual to adjust it.? ?Any ideas here?? Oh, and thanks for this group, and the help that's given.? I appreciate it.

[ WARNING: External Source Email ] As noted I have my IC7000 for sale. I had it mounted in my Ram 3500 and it ran very well there. The set up includes the following:
The IC7000 serial #0511665 and control head with Icon HM 151 hand Mic. MB-105 mounting bracket. Yaesu remote speaker. N2VZ Turbo Tuner RS-232. TGE N8XJK Voltage regulator. Tarheel 75A HF antenna. VHF-UHF mobile antenna. External cooling fan.
The system worked perfectly. Problems NONE!? Selling because I sold the truck and the fifth wheel trailer.
I have pictures attached.

Ken and all.?? Scott repaired the radio, and it's on it's way back to me.? The problems were related to open/broken circuits with no component replacement necessary.? All done in about a week!? ![]() Thank all of you on the list for the references to Scott. 73, Russ KW6T

Do you have tone access enabled on receive and the repeater does not transmit the tone?

Hello to the group, I see this is an old thread but happen to be having the same issue. I had manually loaded the repeater and had no issues. I recently opted to use the RTS software to load multiple repeaters. Since programming with the RTS software I
cannot hit the repeater.
1. I have confirmed frequency is correct, Tx and Rx. 2. Tone is on and set to the proper tone for my repeater. 3. I have transmitted on simplex and received on an HT so know I am transmitting.? 4. I am able to receive from the repeater.? Honestly a little baffled by this and wonder if something simple I am missing. When programming from RTS I completely reset all settings. Maybe something I need to turn back on? Appreciate any help. 73 Nate NA2MC |

Re: Signal Link Settings for Digital on 7000
开云体育Hey Curt,
I sent mine to about 75% of full power, and then I make adjustments from the sound card (and keep my ALC at zero).
Seems to work, and yes… You do need to keep an eye on your temperature settings.

I am running WSPR via SignaLink.
The instructions are to put the radio’s power setting to 100% and adjust output power via the TX knob. Also, have read that for digital modes, there should be no ALC ; however to get even 5-10 w, the ALC shows about 15%, four orange squares. ALC goes to 0% when power goes to 0%. Even with a 10% transmit duty on WSJT the radio rapidly heats. 1) Is this power setting procedure correct. 2) is some ALC activity OK, expected? 3) is this type of heating expected (ambient here is 90F.)? Thank you Kurt KD6LZV |

Re: OPC 1443 Radio to Head Cable -Replacement by an Internet Connection ?
Michael
Not so much and internet connection but a Cat 6 flat network cable. DM5AL originally made a kit that used a HDMI cable but has a new kit that uses a shielded CAT6 and a RCA to RCA shielded cable. I just got the kit in the last few days Sept '21 and it does what its supposed to do. of what he is offering.?
I have nothing to do with his business, I'm just a customer. '73 Michael? K2MPW? |
IC7000 Remote head kit from DM5AL
Michael
Hello all, I was looking to remote the head of my new to me IC7000 when I came across a ham offering. Dmitrii (DM5AL) has a new remote head kit for the IC7000. He calls it the SKT-7000 and it uses a shielded CAT6 network cable along with a RCA to RCA male unbalance shielded cable. I bought the kit last week and can say that it works. Mechanically it's not the most robust hardware connection. I don't know how well it would work in a bumpy mobile environment but in the shack its fine. I am just a ham that stumbled onto his website and emailed asking about his offerings. I have no connection to him other than that and I'm not a vblogger or anything of the sort. Because I think anyone who steps up and fills the void left behind when a manufacturer drops the ball should be commended.... I made a video of the kit installation on my IC7000. It's posted to YouTube as '73 Michael K2MPW @yahoo.com |
