Sounds like you have filters on. Check you don't have nr noise blank filters on etc and check the filter width. When selecting cw the tones should dull down slightly but not as much as your saying

Hi Robert G6LLP ,
Maybe some of the problems come from the fact that KAM , and many similar TNC made for Packet, are not really complaining with the Pactor lev.1 protocol !!
I never had such troublem with SCS PtcII 1st version ( I have it from 1993) and followers, but had many many with a KAM+ that was not able to stay synchro with the SCS , because of the intrinsic weakness that their protocol implementation discount gave them.
Apart from them, the implementation of soft with sound carts for the Pactor protocols suffer from the timing issues of Windows. A well known issue among soundcard soft developers.
If you like more doc on pactor prootocols, look for them in the SCS Gmbh PTCII pages, and have a glance at the Dragon , the Level4 monster.

the simple TNC programs gave little problems unlike the mess i see these days.

I was wondering what software you use and interface. I can't get the 7000 to tx digi modes in rtty.

All,

I'm having trouble using the ic7000 in RTTY mode or not.

I use mix w with the rigexpert standard interface.

The trouble is this: When using the 7000 with mix w in USB mode it will not transmit any power and when using the 7000 in RTTY mode it will transmit but the ALC is VERY high. I have tried adjusting the volume levels on the pc which has no effect with alc or power when in usb or rtty mode.

I was wondering what do others do for transmitting RTTY with the IC7000?
I just use audio tones in SSB mode for all my digital modes, rather than getting the radio to do FSK.? Easier for me, since I use a wide variety of digital modes.

Yep, no issues.? Signal polarity is "normal" for Tx and Rx.? Use the data port, make sure the radio is configured for 9600 bps and in FM mode.? I used the second (10 kHz) IF filter.? Haven't had a chance to confirm if this is the best filter for D-STAR, but it seems to work.? Note that if switching between filter 1 (16 kHz) and the others, you need to change the amount of drive from the DV-RPTR board, because the radio configures itself for a different deviation (wider) for filter 1.

IC7000 and RTTY what do you do?

All,

I'm having trouble using the ic7000 in RTTY mode or not.

I use mix w with the rigexpert standard interface.

I was wondering what do others do for transmitting RTTY with the IC7000?

here is a short video of what is going on:

any suggestions would be helpful

Displayed Frequency does not change

Hi-

I have seen this before but having trouble now-

The VFO won't change frequency and I can't use the VFO

to adjust menu params. When I turn the VFO I only get the KHz

to move up and down by one. The frequency changes when controlling

from my RS-BA1 program. Tried a reset but nothing.

Thanks!

Re: ICOM 7000, Navigator Interface, WINMOR

?To all,

Well, I do feel a bit embarrassed.? Seems I overlooked the RTS checkbox on the RMS Express document from the files area of the Navigator Yahoo group.

Check the box and it worked just fine, successfully sent and received a message!

My apology for taking anyone's time due to my oversight!

I suspect my issue is with the way I setup WINMOR to talk to the 7000.? I do have the COM ports and baud rate correct in WINMOR.? The same configuration works perfectly with HRD and DM-780.? Any ideas? or is someone using this configuration?

Re: ICOM 7000, Navigator Interface, WINMOR

What's the problem..

CAT Control or Soundcard issues ?

?

Re: ICOM 7000, Navigator Interface, WINMOR

?Du you have CAT- or soundcard problem ?

Im not familiar with your interface ( have a microkeyer) but it should work with the same setting...

Confirm you have set the right radio is in the winmor setting (70 for IC-7000)

And for the soundcard the right soundcard port....

Re: ICOM 7000, Navigator Interface, WINMOR

?I dont know what kind of problem you have...

Is it a CAT interface ?or on the soundcard side (can you receive/transmitt) problem

My setup worked from day one...

HI Everybody;

I have found a way to block the annoying ads on the Yahoo site altogether, but it only works if you use Firefox. I recommend that everybody upgrades to Firefox anyways. There is an add on called Adblock Plus that can be installed onto Firefox and all the ads will not be downloaded to your computer. This is great, because all the adverts take up bandwidth.

I just use a more old school solution - IMAP (POP works as well). :)
