Re: CHIRP
That's probably best, and Chirp may work for you using the rt cable.? Some usb/rs232 cables used a cloned chip set that is not compatible with current drivers, and windows hates old drivers.? Usb cables need to use the ftdi chip set and not the cloned prolific chip set. Best of luck. Joe KR0UT? Re: CHIRP
I haven't tried this but,? (I love advise that starts this way. :) ) Have you tried saving one or two frequencies to the ic-7000 memory and then uploading to Chirp? It is also possible that you have a baud rate or bit rate mismatch,? or the wrong com port #.? See attached manual page. Joe KR0UT? Re: IC-7000 to Signalink USB
开云体育I believe the CI-V cable would go directly from the computer to the IC-7000. SignaLink would process audio and CI-V would control CAT and PTT.I’ll be trying a similar setup soon with a DigiRig. Good luck and 73, Ruben WA2NBL On Jan 23, 2022, at 1:04 PM, Marius Lubbe ZS1ML <marsminds@...> wrote:

Re: IC-7000 to Signalink USB
You need a USB to TTL level RS232 cable.?
I have used several different types when I had an IC-7000. The least expensive is tp buy a cheap Boefeng programming cable and cut the end off and replace it with a 3.5 mm plug (mono) connect the TX and RX wires to the tip and the ground to the ground. The CAT-IV has both TX and RX tied together. |
Re: IC-7000 to Signalink USB
The civ cable is not needed to use the signalink.? It does provide frequency data and control of the 7000 from the computer for programs.? The signaling is the audio interface.? ?Connect the civ cable directly to the computer.? ? Joe KR0UT? Re: IC-7000 to Signalink USB
The CIV cable needs to have a USB adapter on it and have it plugged into your com[puter.? You will only need the CIV cable if you want full rig control.? The signallink?will provide PTT signal through the 6 pin mini-din connection. IC-7000 to Signalink USB
Marius Lubbe ZS1ML
I have received a Signalink USB with the 6Pin to RJ45 cable, a USB to USB cable and a CIV cable.
Connecting the first two is easy, but where does the CI-V cable go on the Signalink? There are the following ports for it SKR, AUX, and MON. Which if any do I use to ensure full CAT and Digi control? Thanks in advance.73 Marius ZS1ML |

开云体育Hi William, .My name is Pat Cancro (NK3P) and I am a member of Skyview Amateur Radio Society.
I have read some of your postings on the K3MJW reflector. Tonight I saw your question?regarding connecting an amplifier to a IC-7000. I myself have that model radio, but had not previously thought about hooking
mine up that way, but I am interested in?your idea nevertheless.
i'm curious if you have done any research about this issue and would like to talk with you about that.? If you are a member of Skyview and would like to?meet
perhaps at the Club before or after next weeks' regular Tuesday meeting or at another time and place if you would prefer.?
If you are interested or even if you are not, please let me know either way by?email at jpc2@... or phone at 724-309-6304.
Regards, Pat Cancro
