?Rick, What band are you on? If you are on 2m, then that would be correct. As I saw in one video, the power meter is set as a 100 W meter. So, 50% would be 50 Watts. If you are on 2m, which?is limited to 50 W,?then the meter would read 50%. Keith

Re: IC-7000 / RT Systems software
I've used RT Systems software and cables for many years without a single issue. When I did have a question, their support folks were more than accommodating with a professional attitude and the right answer I needed. I also have the IC-7000 and use the software and cable without a hitch. Great folks at RT Systems. David N5DRM ? |

? Mine all use the same cable, IC-v8000, IC-7000 etc. yes for portables i have different cables, tho mostly one time programming as needed. not operations of digital modes. ???? when i was in chicago, i was able to operate all of my stations radio remotely. not what one can do if you have to change cables. and like others have said. many cables are very cheap to buy. works for most other software. just install that cables driver and your good to go. ?

I did not say the price of their software was unreasonable, but a bit expensive, since you have to buy the cable too. I have learned that in the software game, there is no reasoning for price. Also, please do not try and school me on Capitalism. Talk to The Pope. That said, their software works as advertized, and works well. There is other software out there that is freeware or GNU and is not tied to a cable or chip. Some may work as well, I do not know.Alex Netherton On Sun, Dec 22, 2013 at 8:45 PM, James F. How can it use a universal cable when the radios use different connections
to program them? Speaker Jack on the 8000 and 7000 the VX-8DR uses the external mic/gps connecter etc.. Inside the RT usb side you will find a small pc board if you crack it open. The phone aside, one port is for HF rig control and HF digi-modes, the other port is for VHF/UHF rig control and digi-modes. only 2 cables for 2 rgs. why should i need to add more cables?

Re: [IC-7000] IC-7000 / RT Systems software
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýTo All, ? I know the producers of the RT systems software.? The pricing on their software is very reasonable, as well as their cables. ? I realize international sales of their cables may be somewhat challenging, with shipping and customs charges. ? If you were the producer of the software, would you want to receive endless calls about problems with their software not working, while using generic cables, possibly with counterfeit drivers? ? They are ¡°up front¡± saying that their software will only work with their cables.? It MAY work with other cables, but not guaranteed. ? To have the most seamless experience, order their package with cables.? If you want to experiment, that is fine-but don¡¯t hold them responsible for unsupported cables. ? ¡¯73 de JIM N2ZZ Ic7000 listowner ? From: ic7000@... [mailto:ic7000@...] On Behalf Of ve5kc@...

I really didn't quite understand why they tied the cable to the software like that.Still makes it a little difficult when their cable, a Prolific, decides not to work with Windows or vice versa. Mine keeps coming up as "device not recognized, a USB device has malfunctioned blah blah etc". Perhaps it is the cable itself. Maybe it was fixed in a recent update, as I haven't seen this lately. 73 de KC4BOAlex Netherton On Sun, Dec 22, 2013 at 3:34 PM, ham.4x1uf <ham.4x1uf@...> wrote: I am not working for RT systems but I do know that a lot of manpower in |

RT systems sells their software for the IC-7100 separate, without the cable (digital download) In this case, they say it it will work with the USB cable supplied with the radio. Use all 4 conductors because of instantaneous current requirements. They used 2 conductors paired together as the single connectors and wires won't handle the higher well enough to maintain proper voltage. This radio need a good current/voltage supply.

The RT System software is made for the 7k and it only works with its own cable. Don't know why. I have not found any software that works as well. You may be able to make a cable yourself but RT won't like it. It makes life so much better. Worth the price. On Dec 22, 2013 1:53 PM, <ve5kc@...> wrote:

Connecting an IC 7000 using Rigrunner
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHaving purchased an Icom IC-126 power supply I note that the power output
consists of two positive and two negative terminals.
?
Likewise the power input to the 7000 has a similar configuration, that is
two positive and two negative inputs .
?
My question is, could I simply use one of the positive connections to the
7000 and one of the negative power connections. Or
should I split the rigrunner cables where they go into the IC-7000 thereby
using all 4 of the inputs to the 7000.
