Re: USB scope pcb's.
开云体育Just thought I would let you know that ESET (my AV program) blocked access to download the demo program off of your link below. Here is the exact message:
Maybe some bad guys also use the same server?? Dave On 9/19/2019 4:22 PM,

Re: USB scope pcb's.
开云体育My go-to references for high-speed digital design have always been the two books by Dr. Howard Johnson and Martin Graham: "High Speed Digital Design: A Handbook of Black Magic" and
"High-Speed Signal Propagation: Advanced Black Magic". I was
fortunate enough to be able to attend Dr. Johnson's two courses
using these books back when the company for which I worked
sponsored such things. Dr. Eric Bogatin also has a lot of good material online. IIRC,
his work comes under the rubric of "Be the Signal"
(bethesignal.com). He works or worked for Teledyne LeCroy. Dr.
Bogatin also has online courses, a couple of which I have
attended. DaveD On 9/23/2019 1:19 PM, Jan Kok wrote:

Re: USB scope pcb's.
That's somewhat interesting to me, since I have a project in mind that could use a couple of 4Ms/s ADCs. If you posted the schematics or layout, I would take a quick look. I'm wondering what the purpose of your post is. - Advertising your USB scopes? - Advertising or just recommending PCBCAD51 as a happy user? - Sharing some of the things you've learned about layout involving high speed signals? (But in that case, please share links to some of the websites or other materials you've found helpful for high speed signal layout.) Just curious. It's all fine with me, including advertising. Last time I read the rules for this newsgroup (probably 15 years ago!) I think it said one advertisement per month for things relevant to this group is OK. You might also consider posting to the electronics101 Yahoo group. Re high speed signal design and layout: I'm currently taking the online, self-paced training for Mentor HyperLynx SI and PI (Signal Integrity and Power Integrity) packages??. It's an amazing bit of software, useful for designing and laying out multi Gb/s signals. For example, you can specify a board stackup, enter a schematic of a trace (including driver and receiver characteristics, trace (transmission line) lengths and impedances, vias and their characteristics, branches, terminators, etc... and then run simulations and see simulated oscilloscope traces of the signals. That's a pre-layout activity. Post layout, you can extract the trace schematics from the layout and run the simulations again to verify that the layout will work. The simulations can also account for crosstalk. Mentor makes makes their online, self-paced training available for free to unemployed engineers. Bravo to Mentor for doing that! Of course it's in their self-interest to do that, since people who take that training will spread the word about the product (as I did above) and want to use the software in future jobs. I've received free training from several other software and semiconductor companies as well. It pays to ask! I'm wondering whether Linux will support your LJ1200? Take a look here... ...And open the "release notes here" page. I got around it by installing "Windows XP Mode" on my Win7 system which runs XP in a virtual machine. Works a treat and I can scan a document and save it to the Win7 C: drive.? It's worth a try with your printer and it's free! Best of luck Dave On 19/09/2019 17:17, tron eee wrote:

I am on version 23 now. This has given me time to improve my pcb layouts using PCBCAD51. Some of my early designs were poorly routed. Things like missing ground planes,? High impedance signals too close to clock signals. Lack of decoupling close to IC's. -- |

HP LJ2100 1200 DPI Driver?
Hello All,
Nice group.. For years I've been using the PCBfx foil product for making homebrew SMD PCBs. My printer, an HP LJ2100 supports 1200DPI prints. It is an excellent reliable PCB printer. However, when McNazi$oft forced everyone to upgrade from WinXP, HP chose to obsolete all the old printers by providing the so-called "Universal Driver" which does not support LJ2100 1200 DPI drivers for Vista (yech), Win7 (marginally ok), Win1010 (yech), etc? Aside from having to keep an old PC running XP around, does anyone know of a driver that supports the LJ2100 1200DPI printing mode? Thanks in advance.. -- SETV - Autonomous Instrumentation Platforms for the Detection & Measurement of Suspected ET Objects, sans cameras |

Re: [OT} Anyone know of a group where I may get 3d printer advice ??
Welcome!
It all depends on your direction...ie, where you want to go with this. I'm a machinist, and my bent is toward accuracy and producing parts that fit together. Others are interested in making articles for cosplay, or objets d'art, but enough of this. Emsil me privately and we can go from there so that we can be respectful and not clog this list. |

I have three.? I can certainly contribute something about what *not* to buy, and things you may or may not want.

I'd be happy to help off this board. I have TEVO Tarantula, Endr3, CR-10, CR-10s, Flashforge Creator Pro (woody).? Of those, best bang for buck is Endr3 IMHO

Asking about models of 3D printer is probably like asking which microcontroller is best. You'll get a lot of people with different opinions, some of whom will let you know how much they hate brand X or Y.

seemed the closest match of the groups I have joined. I am looking for advice on buying a 3D printer - I am on a limited budget. If you are aware of a group where they discuss such things, please let me know. TIA Dave |

Re: Tracing paper and HP Laerjet 1020
I'm using Craft Essentials 110gsm tracing paper from HobbyCraft in the UK. I find tracing paper works well for UV exposure and I've had much more luck than with transparencies.
I did eventually get acceptable results by using the card setting in the driver, the heavy paper setting just wouldn't fuse it correctly. |

Re: Tracing paper and HP Laerjet 1020
For UV exposure, you have to go for transparencies with lase print. ?. you may print two such and carefully overlap to increase the darkness of black while UV is lit. On Mon, Aug 12, 2019 at 4:42 PM Brian Pingree via Groups.Io <p1ngr5=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Tracing paper and HP Laerjet 1020
Is toner transfer dense enough for photo UV exposure, which is, I assume, the OP's method? There is no extra heat process of hot iron onto the board (which fuses the toner) with UV exposure. I've always used ink jet on transparency using a two print stack, one printed at 180 degs. rotation Toner on drafting paper or tracing paper has never worked for me. Doesn't yellow block the UV?
