Hello All,
Nice group..
For years I've been using the PCBfx foil product for making homebrew SMD PCBs. My printer, an HP LJ2100 supports 1200DPI prints. It is an excellent reliable PCB printer. However, when McNazi$oft forced everyone to upgrade from WinXP, HP chose to obsolete all the old printers by providing the so-called "Universal Driver" which does not support LJ2100 1200 DPI drivers for Vista (yech), Win7 (marginally ok), Win1010 (yech), etc? Aside from having to keep an old PC running XP around, does anyone know of a driver that supports the LJ2100 1200DPI printing mode?
Hello--
I'm in the process of setting up a new machine that will run Linux (Ubunto 18-something)
as a replacement for Windows 7 and an attempt to avoid getting sucked into the
Windows 10 vortex.
I'm wondering whether Linux will support your LJ1200? Take a look here...
...And open the "release notes here" page. I didn't see a specific mention of the LJ1200 but
another variant of that printer may be close enough. Also, someone with Linux experience
may be able to help.
