Hello Dave, and all who so kindly replied, apologies for my late response, work took me away from home. Special thanks to Dave who has been an absolute star in converting these files to

I think Dave meant https://jlcpcb.com/ I've used seeedstudio.com (yes, 3 e's) and been happy with results. >

Re: Are these sufficient files to have boards made in China please?
Its good to see the Kicad files contained everything required to complete the gerber file set. So... what is it??? A power supply?

Re: Are these sufficient files to have boards made in China please?
Chris: ? I loaded the design files into Kicad and produced the Gerber files.? I ran them through the jlpcb.com Gerber Checker. You can get 5 boards for $2, 10 boards for $5 or 100 for $18.90 plus

Just for some information here......... for anyone who wants to get PCBs made in a fabrication house...... The bare minimum requirement to get a single sided copper PCB will be to provide 4

Re: Are these sufficient files to have boards made in China please?
Chris: ? I took a quick look.? Looks like some Gerber files are missing. KICAD makes the Gerber files from the pcb file. You will need the following Gerber files to have the boards maade. Top

Re: Are these sufficient files to have boards made in China please?
Go to the PC board fab site, and then see what their requirements are, which files they want, and so on. Take the files you have, hopefully produced by a CAM program, and zip them.? submit those

Re: Are these sufficient files to have boards made in China please?
The zip file contains files with "kicad" in their names. Presumably they were made with the Kicad PCB design package. I'm not familiar enough with Kicad to say if the files are good and sufficient. If

Re: OT: Anodizing aluminium ...
the sodium hydroxide is both a surface cleaner and acts as an electrolytic cavitator in the process. It's etching lightly the surface & initiating a network of pores within the terminal (hardened)

Re: OT: Anodizing aluminium ...
NaOH (Sodium hydroxide aka lye aka drain cleaner) is mainly used to degrease the part, gets that last bit of crap off. It’ll strip the oxide layer off as well, and giving the part a slight etch

Re: OT: Anodizing aluminium ...
Did you click on the links? NaOH is just part of the process.

Re: Microscopes for SMD soldering etc
Hi Tron, ? Well, I ordered the kit from Whizoo so I may be asking some questions later when it's time to run it. Mainly profile info if you have any on various solder. If you just use the datasheet

Re: OT: Anodizing aluminium ...
Steven, That's good info. Never looked into it much but that makes it a bit easier. Besides, I already have the sodium hydroxide as we used to make soap as a hobby/business years ago. Dave

Re: OT: Anodizing aluminium ...
Because idiots kept on throwing it into people’s faces. It was happening roughly twice per day in 2016/7 according to wiki.

A knee jerk reaction to some acid attacks. You need a license to purchase over 15% concentration unless it is in a battery. You can get up to 2 years in jail for possessing or selling the stuff
