Subject: On Air at Last

?

Hello Clifton ARS members and fellow radio friends.

Today (30th Sept) we finally got on the air after spending several hours resonating the G-Whip antenna, this entailed climbing up and down between decks several dozen times from where we operate on deck 10 to deck 12 where the antenna is situated ………..The procedure took about 4 hours to complete.

We are now 1200 miles east of Halifax NS. We are due to arrive in Halifax on 3rd Oct.

Tomorrow we should be on the radio, from about 1300hrs GMT………..Today 15m & 12m were productive our preferred frequencies will be 24.906 Mhz and 24,960. And if 15m is not too cluttered with strong contest signals 21.058 or 21.285

As the day progresses and if the band conditions allow we will QSY to 20m on 14.058 and 14.285 around 1800gmt we may be found on 30m on 10,116.

All frequencies may be +/- due to local QRM

Unfortunately 17m is very difficult due to ship bourn QRM making it un-useable …………

Among today’s contacts we worked Colin G0UJK on 12m CW

We look forward to working you over the next three weeks.
