Hello Clifton ARS members and fellow radio friends,
Just to let you know the memsahib and I currently 400miles from Portsmouth into our voyage to Halifax Nova Scotia. Currently we are suffering the effects of a deep depression known as 'Storm Agnes' with 60 to 70 knot winds over the deck. Our present course is 234 degrees with a speed of 15knts as we head directly into the wind and a 7 to 8mtr swell.
The good news is that today we have been given permission to operate our radio by the captain Darin Bowland the master of the Spirit of Discovery.
However, we will not be able to deploy our antenna etc. until the WX improves. We believe the storm is set to moderate over next 24 hrs.
Rest assured we will keep you posted as to our progress and when our radio ops will commence.
