Re: Strane SMA on REAR.
I mounted a small SMA on the rear of my FT817ND. It is used as the output
of the IF (68,33 MHz) to watch as a spectrum display on an SDR module. I
use the FUNCube dongle, as recommended. See photo.

Re: Strane SMA on REAR.
Tomorrow I'll have to open to see what they did to this great radio!
Today I have played with the 817 and SVXLINK and RIGCTL... My voice mail run well... It could be interesting configure the SVXLINK

Re: Strane SMA on REAR.
Without any additional information we can only guess. It would be good if you could open the radio and see where the wire from the connector goes.
The most likely explanation is to send an IF signal

Strane SMA on REAR.
Hi to all!
I have a great FT817ND... bought used, replaced the internal battery and all run well. I replaced the "light" power connector with a coupler that provide two Anderson connector from

Re: Antenna port
The BNC is too light for my huge hands... I prefer use the SO-239 on the rear. To avoid dangerous situations put a 50 Ohm or 75 Ohm impedance on the BNC.

Re: Collins Mechanical Filter
All of the menu settings were correct. I took the filter out of the radio where everything seems to work OK and put that filter into the ¡°problem¡± radio. It did not work. My assumption is that the

Re: Rig Control SW with FT817
I use the Digirig with my 857D which is similar. You will find that the cables used from the Digirig to the radio are generic Ft-8XX
I find they have a forum and often cover such questions.

Re: Collins Mechanical Filter
You have to select the filter on the 818 in menu 38. It gives you the option of cw or sub.

Re: Collins Mechanical Filter
Have you enabled the filter in the 818 settings? It gives a choice between SSB and CW. I do not know the menu number, as I own the FT-817ND, not a FT-818ND.
Hope this helps.

Re: Collins Mechanical Filter
Hi Paul,
Did you try putting the filter from the good radio into the other to see if it works in there or putting the new filter into the radio with the known good filter to see if it works there

Can any of you give me a suggestion on what might be going on with one of my FT-818nd radio. I have two 818nd Radios but only one has a Collins Mechanical 500Hz CW Filter. I wanted to add one to the

Re: Operating CW without Microphone- how to add FST button?
Even easier!
I keep a few of these RJ45 breakout boards around - https://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-Connector-Breakout-Board-terminals/dp/B01N7R2M71

The other trick is to program memories with some spaced frequencies in order for the bands you operate.

Re: Operating CW without Microphone- how to add FST button?
Hi,
I'd cut a few inches off an ethernet cable, solder a small push button
switch onto the wires then add some heat shrink tubing to hold it together.
Much better than drilling a hole in the radio

What about setting the ¡°SSB STEP¡± to 5kHz and fast QSY with the SEL knob?

Good point about the up/down buttons versatility.? But I can get by
without up/down buttons, and I usually use? a straight key.
Thanks for your response!
