I glean from what has been said is that an LED light supplied by a 5v power
cord
supplied by a 12v battery should not cause much RFI. If I am incorrect,

LEDs them selves do not produce RFi.
The culprit is the power circuit in the LED housing that converts the AC to
DC.
Practically ALL new radios are lit with LEDs.
If they produced RFi, they would not

High noise across the bands is unusual unless there is something causing
widespread hash. Often these come from neon signs or plasma TVs both not

Friend I live in 11th floor apartment too and I have a Yaesu FT817 and
FT897, both I use a Magnetic Loop antenna. I get good contacts near the
