I have some blank boards.? I'd be willing to photograph one, provided someone can point to a way to get permission to copy it from the original designer.? I've no desire to get involved in a dispute over rights.

Now that W4RT has ceased trading, has anyone tried to copy / replicate the PCB?
Or if you have an unused board would you be willing to make the appropriate images so one could be made?
Thanks Andy GD1MIP

There should definitely be a resolution of the board's copyright
before simply copying it.
According to QRZ.com, W4RT is a club call.? Start there...

Hi Andy,
?
I would suggest that, if W4RT
is not SK, then he should be approached and asked for
permission to replicate his board or, failing that his
family should be asked for the permission.

He may be willing to provide
the layout of the board to a successor to manufacture

Hi all I buy both Collins filters some years ago and I found on web that there is another way to have both Collins filters installed without any pcb.
I did this simple wire installation and it's working 73 mike i3mdu

I have an ND with the sotabeams filter, it is installed so a Collins filter can be run parallel with it and I find it very comparable to the Collins on CW. The slopes of the filters must be similar because to my ear they have almost the same sound. Depending on your use case it may be a good option. The Sotabeams is always in-line either using the wide or narrow setting. And since it is a dsp audio filter it is always in series with the stock ceramic filter on receive. Ultimate rejection of closed space signals probably would still be a good case for the Collins filters but for just general use I think the sotabeams is very usable. The only interest I have in any of the equipment is as an owner but I do have an 817nd on QRZ for sale with the sotabeams filter installed right now.

Hi all:
Another option as an audio DSP unit is the Funtronics ADSP filter:
It receives mixed reviews on eham.net, I have one, and must say that, on SSB, it works pretty well; on CW, it is finicky, but usable. Still no match for my TS590S, though!

You're totally correct.? W4RT closed their doors over a year ago.? They sold off all the filter kits, then offered up the bare boards last.? I bought up a few for "FUTURE NEEDS".? AFAIKT, nothing more is available from W4RT.
I have installed the dual-filter kit in two FT-817NDs, and one ICOM IC-703+.? I luv em, and now my German nephew is begging me to a a bare board.? He did his first SOTA activation, and fell in love with the Collins SSB filter, but he also sees the need for the CW filter.? Like me, he wants both.

For the most part the filters are all made by Collins (and are no longer in production), so all the options go back to the same basic filter.? The various retailers mount the filter on a board suitable for your rig. For me, inrad has been a good source when I couldn't find a used filter on ebay. I dont think W4RT is still in business (correct me of I'm wrong) and they were the one who made the board that let you use 2 filters on the 817.

For "CASUAL" CW operation on good bands, I more often than not operate CW with the SSB filter.? On a contest weekend, yeah, CW filter.
