(below). I also have another radio. D you loss the "band scan'? It is my understanding that once you modify the radio from factory settings, you lose country-specific information, such as band plans, auto-repeater +/- and offset. The radio simply becomes a general coverage transceiver and you must manually enter all information such as splits and shift directions. I don't think it is worth the trouble for just 5 channels and I have other rigs that will cover those.
