Re: 817 Final Repair Costs?


 

Once your 817 is repaired, what are you going to do
to prevent the same thing from happening again? There
are very specific requirements that must be met, otherwise
it is just a matter of time before you blow another PA board.
I have been there, done that. There's one or two articles on
how to protect your 817 with a very minimum of components. I
urge you to look that up and take heed.

BTW, I bought the replacement PA board from Yaesu. It's an easy
thing to swap. Just make sure the shields of the connecting coaxial
cables go to the right place on the board, otherwise you open a
somewhat more complicated can of worms.
