Sorry to butt in, BUT - I¡¯ve never understood why someone would buy two spindles just to get access to both 30mm and 1?¡± tooling. ?Changing spindles is a PITA. ?Whereas adapting 1?¡± tooling to a 30mm spindle with the use of inexpensive top-hat-style bushings is less expensive and easier on the back. ?Two examples:

Hi Ray, there are a few reasons I wouldn¡¯t buy the C3, I went with a B3 & A3 setup

1) the saw rip fence is now the the fence from the K3 Basic, and when mounted on the jointer outfeed table it only reaches to approximately the Center of the blade. It also isn¡¯t the standard saw fence extrusion so it doesn¡¯t have the same high/low capability as a standard saw fence

2) rip capacity is 900mm which is fine for me, may not be for you

3) the shaper spindle doesn¡¯t tilt, that¡¯s a real issue for me

4) the C3 really needs a square shaped shop as you need access on 4 sides as opposed to 3 for 2 function machines

5) I would purchase both an 1 1/4¡± and 30mm spindle so you can share grooving tools and saw blades with the saw

Hi Ray -?? I have a C3-31, the measuring tapes on the floor are an 8' square.
I left about 16" of measuring tape on the J/P side, as the C3-41 is a larger machine.

Well, the files you create in the ¡°Makers¡± version can only be used in the Makers version, you can¡¯t import/export them to other platforms or softwares. You can export .stp or .iges files and use them elsewhere, but they will be ¡°dumb¡±, no feature tree or ability to modify with any sort of intelligence. It is also a cloud based software, you only rent the right to use it and have to pay monthly or yearly.

Hi Simon,

I can¡¯t tell how far off the part is from ¡°flat¡± from the photo. ?But it looks like there may be enough material to machine the part so that it is flat. ?This might be an option if a replacement is not available. ?I am also wondering if part of the problem might be how it is attached to the base. ?Was it originally too wide where it is bolted to the base, and squeezed into place, causing the bend. ?It looks like a piece of cast steel or cast iron. ?They are prone to breakage if they are stressed too much, but they will bend, to a point.

Hi, the issue is to determine which 2 phases the control power supplies for the machine are connected to, you want those two lines connected to the non manufactured line of the phase converter.

If you have a true digital phase converter (rectifier/inverter) then it doesn¡¯t matter, if you have a rotary converter it does matter.

You can check the drawing for your machine however I normally use a DVM to verify it.

1) unplug the machine, or open the breaker in the distribution panel

2) using AC Volts on the meter verify that you have no power in the machine

3) close (Turn on) the disconnect switch for the machine

4) using Ohms function on the DVM measure Phase A to Phase B, Phase A to phase C, and Phase B to Phase C

5) only one of those pairs will have continuity, maybe 10 to 100 ohms, this pair is the one with the control power supplies, it must be fed from the non manufactured line

6) you now need to either one of the control power leads in the machine to the non manufactured phase or reverse one pair of phases in the machine plug (doesn¡¯t matter which pair)

7) If your machine motor goes backwards after changing the plug above, interchange one pair of wires going to the motor to reverse rotation, it doesn¡¯t matter which pair.

Chris i had to change the high leg on my F700z but cannot for the life of me find my notes. ? If you call tech support in DE they can tell you which leg it should be on - when i got mine they asked me to check it and said it is common for the factory to send new machines with the high leg on the wrong terminal.? Mine was so it was a quick change
