Re: Christmas in November
Thanks, Cornelius! The tech was here earlier and removed the MDF strip. I had no idea it was there. He has much of the assembly done, and will be back tomorrow to finish. He was looking for a forklift

Re: Profil 45Z commission and setup
PK: Thank you for clarifying that. I found that part rolling around on the floor of the pallet when I received my F900z. No one seemed to know what it was for, so it's been in a drawer for the last 3

Re: F900M or Profil 45M
Hi Jeff, I endorse your plan to go with an "M" machine (solid cast iron table), as opposed to a "Z" (sliding table). The solid cast iron table will give you more options in terms of jigs/accessories,

Re: Profil 45Z commission and setup
Thanks everyone. PK, I attached the knob like you have on your machine, what is wired is why two of us have this part, but Larry doesn't. I got a permission from Felder to open to electrical box to

Re: F900M or Profil 45M
Given your stated requirements, I would encourage you to look closely at the Profil 45M - not the X-motion version. This way you get a much more robust shaper hood that can be tilted back and away,

FOR SALE: HOUFEK HB900 Oscillating Edge Sander
Hi all, As I'm not getting any younger I need to sell some machines that aren't getting much use and taking up space. I bought this machine, the Houfek HB900 from Adwood at the IWF around 2006. It's

F900M or Profil 45M
What to buy? I am looking to upgrade my secondary shaper to compliment the awesomeness of my 3 year old F900z. I find the slider on the existing machine is wonderful for end work, but I want the full

Re: Christmas in November
Hi John, Here are photos I had taken of the leaflet that was taped to my sliding table, showing the two MDF strips that were preventing the cage from moving freely. Again, these were un addition to

Re: Christmas in November
Thanks for the links to checklists, David. Imran, I do not recall noise or clicks. The slider was hard to move. -- John Hinman Boise ID Kappa 450X and A941

Re: Anyone know the function of these screws on old Hammer A3 41?
Not entirely sure, but the first photo my guess is outfeed table height adjustment. Second photo is lock knobs for both infeed and outfeed tables. Regards, Bryce --

Re: Christmas in November
Hi, in addition to the plastic stoppers, my machine had additional MDF strips wedged in between track and slider that prevented the table from sliding easily. Those strips were at least 1 meter long.

Re: Christmas in November
John, You don¡¯t have to do it but as David said the bearing is not centered as you stated the slider will not clear the blade opening. This is normal. It is a nerve wrecking experience to slam the

Anyone know the function of these screws on old Hammer A3 41?
Hey guys, I just bought a 2004 Hammer A3 41 and wonder what the function of these knobs is? Does anyone know? Does anyone happen to have a manual for this old machine? It differs from the new models

There are commissioning checklists in the files section. Sounds like you¡¯re in for a long night of supervision.

Re: Christmas in November
David, I hope it is that simple! I will not do anything with it until the tech gets here, though. I do not want Felder telling me I broke something! I appreciate the input about possible

Weird, I don't have that knob/shaft attached to mine. I'll have to look at my loose parts that came with my machine to see if it's laying around. -- *Larry Long Neck* Just a noob trying to learn the

Re: Christmas in November
Most likely then, the bearing cage needs to be centered. To do this, force the sliding table to the absolute extreme end of travel in both directions. That will center the bearing cage. David Best -

Re: F700Z slider to cast-iron height difference
Hi, I do a fair amount of template copying and have never had an issue with using a pattern that bridges the cast and sliding table. The angle induced is so small as to inconsequential . When tenoning
