You will find cleaning the outrigger slide on all 4 sides will help with the smoothness, just don't use any type of lube that dust will stick to. I do this monthly. If you try using an abrasive make

I have used Ballistol? on my Hammer slider for years. It really works, you will notice a difference.. I put it on a folded gun cleaning patch and clean and lube the rails on the slider and chassis.
