I have 2 parallel guides with the tables, typically on the slider all the time. They are great butt bars easy to move and having 2 is my greatest slider extravagance. They are never tightened and free to move on a whim. Without them my work flow on other sliders is totally screwed. The butt bar is a hazard IMHO, really good for bruised hips and other parts LOL.

If your talking about the handle that you place in the back of the slider on the side to pull it back.? I was thinking of the parallel fence to use for not only supporting sheet goods, but also for moving the sliding table back in the same fashion.? But yes..the parallel arm is a lot larger and sticks out more

I was thinking the same thing but found the table got in the way most of the time and it doesn¡¯t adjust as easily/quickly as the butt bar. Also the parallel fence and table is like $500 and the butt bar is around $80 and are we talking about the same thing?
