Thanks Mac.? I had never considered setting up a machine that

the distance chuck to wood without the table
shifting side to side like on a standard drill
press.
I went with a 3 phase vintage Delta
Turner-Walker style radial drill press that came
with a smaller motor - a 0.5HP 1725 RPM motor..
?A VFD was added. ?This was discussed in a prior
thread. ?
The VFD makes noise at all times unless the
power supply is turned off, and the larger
Forstner bits stop turning in wood, especially
at lower speed.
Plan is to change to a ENC single phase 220V VFD
along with a Marathon 1 HP 1750PRM 3 phase
motor. ?A friend has a similar radial drill
press but no VFD and does not have this issue.
He would have to change belts to adjust speed as
the tradeoff. ?I am hoping the upgrade will give
me the needed performance without the need for
belt changes.
When the change is made, I will provide feedback
on the performance.?

I identified one in my neck of the woods… Baltimore, had Starrett not stepped-up. My concern was that there appear to be many garage-shops for?which I have no sense of quality. Though, the quality could be quite high.

Above may be true for you but just want to be sure that you have gone thru the mechanics. The right angle adapter works great for me both in jointer and planer modes. It routes the hose just as I would like. Even though mine is dual 51 concept is same. I use 2 separate hoses (thanks to David Best) for jointer and planer and both are standard 5” spiral hoses.
The pics illustrate the benefit to me for the right angle connector.
?Jointer:
Planer: This is important because you want the hose to go up, otherwise it will be in the path of outfeed.

Yes, it should have had to be approved by a moderator. All new posters have to be moderated for the first few posts. I can only assume it is a glitch in the Groups software. First time it has happened, I deleted them as a member and will contact Groups if it happens again.

Wade, I use these adapters on my 120mm ports for the Kappa 400, HS950 and AD941 along with 100 other people.
They work. If for some odd reason they don't work for you, I'll take care of the problem.

So the larger end of your 120mm adapter will fit over the plastic housing on the machine, but do you know if it’s a snug fit?? Does the 120mm end have any taper to it?? I’m wanting that connection to be just about semi permanent. Only because of the flipping action of the hose back and fourth to change operations.? Maybe I can use a pop-rivet gun to secure it, unless it’s soft enough to use a hose clamp to really hold it in there well. ?

I have been selling for years now, parallel fences to fit the Hammer and Minimax machines that bolt to the t-slot in the side of the slider. I do limit the width to roughly 25”-26” of support and no issues that I have ever heard of. I would not hang the Felder 1M extension on any sort of adapter on the Hammer slot arrangement, that would be asking for trouble.

To all you AD941 owners.? The machine dust hose attachment has an outside diameter of 120mm or 4.72”.? The hose I use in my shop has an inside diameter of 110mm or 4.33”.? What did you use to adapt the hose to your machine.?
The Felder adapter will not work for my situation.
