Re: Shortening a bandsaw blade

Any competent saw blade shop should be able to cut and re-weld that blade. Find one local to you, this is who I use here in Phoenix:

Re: P coupling Felder adapter to Hammer

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I have been selling for years now, parallel fences to fit the Hammer and Minimax machines that bolt to the t-slot in the side of the slider. I do limit the width to roughly 25¡±-26¡± of support and no issues that I have ever heard of. I would not hang the Felder 1M extension on any sort of adapter on the Hammer slot arrangement, that would be asking for trouble.

Hi Nathan,

Currently I am just using a stop block that I fix with an F-clamp. I fixed it on the top T-slot as I have my doubts about the strength of the side mounted T-slot when it comes to being loaded with a 60-70 cm plywood panel. Does anybody have experience with load capabilities of the side of the sliding table on a Hammer?

Re: AD941 dust hose attachment

Hi Bill Belanger,

So the larger end of your 120mm adapter will fit over the plastic housing on the machine, but do you know if it¡¯s a snug fit? ?Does the 120mm end have any taper to it? ?I¡¯m wanting that connection to be just about semi permanent. Only because of the flipping action of the hose back and fourth to change operations. ?Maybe I can use a pop-rivet gun to secure it, unless it¡¯s soft enough to use a hose clamp to really hold it in there well. ?

Thx,

Wade

I used a Fernco rubber fitting adaptor?from?a?local plumbing supply house, But can't tell you which one at the moment. It fits over the metal ring on the small side and tapers larger to also fit outside?a 6" spiral flex hose.

Prior to that, I used a similar but different Fernco to adapt to a similar size 4" spiral?flex hose.

It's easy to forget that close enough is good enough because the rubber can/will stretch. But the table specs should help a lot.

Hi Bob Wise,

I¡¯m just connecting flex ducting that has the reinforced spiral wire that coils through it. Wanting to make a direct attachment. ?

Some have mentioned they use Felder¡¯s right angle adapter, but I don¡¯t see the need on my situation to use a right angle adapter. ?Just a straight tapered adapter would suffice. ?

Thx,

Wade

Update:
Starrett Customer Service came through on this¡ the official line is that they don¡¯t repair blades, but given the cost of the blade and that it¡¯s a one-off ¡®mulligan¡¯,?they¡¯ll have me ship?it back to the factory, to a specific person. My guess is somebody called in a favor.

Loud shoutout to Starrett.

Re: Troubleshooting Problems with Felder Machines

It could be more generic, however it¡¯s a good place to start.

You would be amazed the number of customers who haven¡¯t read the manual and their problems are as follows

- emergency stop button depressed

- cover, hood or door interlock switch issue because they¡¯re trying to start a machine with an interlock active

- no power applied to the machine due to an installation error

As I always say during training courses, ¡° read the manual¡±

Many users don¡¯t have the troubleshooting skills that many FOG members have.

Re: rip blade

Felder obviously, you need to supply address, name and phone number.

I often buy FS Tools blades, made in North America.

Re: rip blade

Another vote here for Ridge Carbide.? I recently bought two blades from them, good service, no issues.? They emailed me just to confirm that I really wanted Felder 30mm arbor with pin holes, and shipped the blades out within a few days.?

?

I also got a Forrest dado king from Sliver¡¯s Mill.? Again, decent service, no issues, shipped fairly quickly.?

?

Each purchase was through their web pages, but each site lists a phone number, & presumably you could call in an order.? I called Ridge with some questions before purchase, they were very helpful.

I agree, the internet is the wild west, no telling where your info ends up. . .
