¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Seamus, As I was putting the schematics back it occurred to me that my schematic is for 3KW & 4KW machines. Yours being 5.5KW is going to be different due to star delta, etc. On my dual51 (7.35KW) I cannot hear the star-delta working but on my K975 (5.5KW), I can easily hear the switch. In fact, I was told by Felder once the machine is on, do not turn it off until I hear the relay switch. According to them, it could hurt the brake board. Anyhow, your machine is going to be different due to this reason. When I had a brake issue on K975, the Felder tech walked me thru relay switching to determine what is wrong. The top spacer has to be enough above the spindle so the recessed rim of the cap contacts it when tightened down.? There can be times when everything appears tight but the cap is contacting the center of the spindle but the rim isn't putting enough pressure

Sorry to hear about this accident.? I'm trying to understand what you mean when you say that the last spacer was above the top of the shaft.? So the cutterhead was mounted on the spindle, perhaps some spacers below it, then you had spacers on top of the cutter head stacked to a height such that top of the spindle was below the top of the spacers?? So the top-most spacer wasn't fully in contact with the spindle? |

I did forget to mention that the Pitt-Ohio driver who dropped off the HS950 didn't ask me to sign anything. Just handed me the paperwork, told me there was nothing to sign and he was gone. I'll be giving Felder logistics some feedback on that.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý?Glen, ?First thought that comes to mind is having a stack of dovetail ways on the inside on each side of the lower cabinet. The width of the dovetail way should be wide enough to receive a dovetailed part that one can mount the drawer slide to. A pin/screw of sort will be required to prevent the dovetail slide to pull out. Not as adjustable as pins but I can¡¯t imagine that working without incorporating lateral support that would keep the runners pushed into the cabinet sides. This support will also push on the sides of the cabinet outward. I guess the drawer could itself be tight fitting to accomplish this but I am not sure if slides are designed to do so. Also, it would not be easy to relocate them because the runners would need to be held onto the sides while the drawer is inserted. Maybe I am not following this concept properly. Imran? Well While I am at it and until I fix my spindle..
One of the jobs I am doing now, The customer wants pull out trays in the lowers. You remember those things we did in the 80/90 days instead of drawers. so because I like to go on and above I would like to make them adjustable. I am looking for ideas on doing that. I thought about a runner for the slide that pins in to the shelf support holes that I did not drill in this case, but not sure if they would stay in place when the tray is pulled out. Any ideas, TIA Glen |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýBeen there, done that. ?In my case the cutter itself was spin welded to the shaft. ?I had it pressed off at a machine shop (something I could do myself now), but the shaft was so badly damaged that it was scrapped. ?The Whitehill cutter survived and still in use. ??If Mac¡¯s suggestions don¡¯t free up the bushings, take the spindle to a local machine shop.? Hi All,
Well I have apparently spun a cutter head on the shaft. Not sure how this happened as the stack was very tight and I know have the last spacer above the top of the shaft. my guess is it wasn't high enough. I got the cutter off but I cant get the lower spacers off. So what route should I take.I can see the slightest burr on the shaft. That is why I assumed I spun the cutter.
