Adjustable pull out trays
Well While I am at it and until I fix my spindle..
One of the jobs I am doing now, The customer wants pull out trays in the lowers. You remember those things we did in the 80/90 days instead of drawers. so because I like to go on and above I would like to make them adjustable. I am looking for ideas on doing that. I thought about a runner for the slide that pins in to the shelf support holes that I did not drill in this case, but not sure if they would stay in place when the tray is pulled out. Any ideas, TIA Glen |

I need a little shaper help
Hi All,
Well I have apparently spun a cutter head on the shaft. Not sure how this happened as the stack was very tight and I know have the last spacer above the top of the shaft. my guess is it wasn't high enough. I got the cutter off but I cant get the lower spacers off. So what route should I take.I can see the slightest burr on the shaft. That is why I assumed I spun the cutter. Go figure I was having my most productive day in a long time. Thanks In advance. Glen |

Re: Problem with Delivery of new Felder K770S
As Bill Hope pointed out, many deliveries go without issue. I've received four separate shipments from Felder (KF700, A3-41, HS950, RL160+FAT500), and all have been super easy, no-frills affairs.?
I totally understand the impulse to take ownership of a machine that you've waited close to a year to receive, but I think it's important to keep in mind that Felder is explicit about: -- Completely inspecting the machine prior to signing the delivery paperwork -- If there is any damage (or even evidence that there?might be damage, you are to call Felder prior to signing anything -- Felder's official line is: "If you're not sure, it's better to refuse delivery so we can hold the freight company responsible and NOT involve you in the claims process. " By accepting delivery, you are releasing the freight company from any responsibility for damage, and once they've been released they're going to fight ferociously to avoid getting dragged back in. Even after many, many months of waiting, better to wait a few more months and get a machine in good condition, than to accept a damaged machine that might take months to fix/resolve (if at all)...? -- Tom Gensmer Heritage Home Renewals, LLC Minneapolis, MN |

Re: Problem with Delivery of new Felder K770S
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýWhen I picked up my Felder at the freight terminal I quickly understood all the damage. The forklift operators drive FAST with and without a load. Like 20 MPH fast. I was told by Felder they use the 2 by 4 and plastic because if not the freight company will almost always stack on top. I have a very expensive set of speakers arrive UPS and one of the two boxes arrived with a hole all the way through the box, and the speaker inside, and out the other side. The speaker walls were 50 mm of high density particle board. So the forklift had enough momentum to ram a fork through 100mm of high density particle board. Crazy.?On Jan 5, 2022, at 10:08 AM, Bill Hope <hope.we@...> wrote:

Re: Problem with Delivery of new Felder K770S
Ed, you're only hearing about the bad experiences. There should be some good ones as well.
My Hammer B3 came in an open frame crate as well. There was a bit of damage to the 'crate' on the slider side, but no damage to the saw itself. I did take delivery of a HS-950 on Monday. It's 'fully' crated, but the plywood top wouldn't have taken a hit as there wasn't any real frame underneath (strips of plywood) and the whole thing basically lifted off the crate once the straps were removed. I will say that both machines were securely fastened to the pallet. -- -- Measure it with a micrometer, mark it with chalk, cut it with a Hammer |
Re: New K700S Delivery Damage to Sliding Table
Yes, I just experienced a delivery of a damaged sliding table saw package. (sorry- this machine came from Italy - forgive me now before continuing...)
Slider was okay, as it was in a solid wood coffin with ply tops and fastened to a special pallet for it. They did their darnedest to it, but that structure held up well. However, entire 4'x7' cardboard enclosure over plastic wrap could be lifted off with one hand. Cones placed on top to prevent stacking were completely ripped off, and pallet had rubbed right down to the iron top. Fortunately, things turned out okay. I thought a corner was hit, as switch plate was bowed out ~5mm. Could not figure that out, until wiring time. A bundle of wires was pinched (unharmed) in between saw body and switch plate during factory assembly. In the end, the only real loss was a broken plastic splinter guard on the largest squaring bar. More to the point: I called my salesman while on the truck inspecting, and he did everything he could to coerce me into accepting the machine, unless it was completely annihilated. I realize, it would save him the headaches and place duty of resolving all issues squarely on me. Not cool. I got lucky, but as I'm reading here, I think I'd reject it next time. ? So- anyone else expecting machines, expect similar issues. It's just the way things are right now, regardless the shipping company or manufacturer involved. Be ruthless, and shove the results of their carelessness right back on them. You will then get results. Just remember, whoever is stuck with the half-ton damaged machine is the one most motivated to remedy the situation. Sadly, in this instance, it is Shimmdog, our original poster.? Good luck with your freight claim, but I will say, my Felder rep took the bull by the horns and rounded up all missing components from my shaper last spring, unlike my salesman for the machine I just received, who seems to not want to hear from me and is being as dismissive as he can be. I trust your Felder rep will follow through and help you thoroughly.?? jeff |
Re: New K700S Delivery Damage to Sliding Table
Cliff Rohrabacher, Esq.
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThis is? a little late? for this? buyer. Accepting the damaged? goods is far preferable to refusing.? Refusing can add costs to quarrel about (storage & handling) and the item can be further damaged? which would be more to? quarrel about.? Endorse the bill of lading and add a clause indicating that the packaging was damaged and acceptance is reserved until inspection.? Take pictures. Refusing doesn't do a better job of preserving your rights.? You
rights as a purchaser may be readily vindicated by the seller but
if the seller is uncooperative? you will end up having to
litigate. I always recommend that the purchaser acquire a Performance Bond in the form of Cargo Insurance from their homeowners' insurance company at the time of making the order. You can get it in the form of a temporary rider. The UCC places liability? for risk of loss? on the? buyer,? in
the absentee of a breech where goods are to be delivered to a
specific location. But? retailers almost never? apply this reading
of the UCC? to end use retail consumers. This is because the
players are not operating from the same playing? level.
I don't recall the terms used in my purchase agreement.? Read
it.? It will probably? cover the whole risk of loss thing.? If it
does and it differs from the UCC? then the agreement controls.
It is not been my experience that Felder is overly warm, to the
idea of? taking responsibility? for things they do wrong. By way of example When I bought my RL160 the documentation? expressly? stated that
the upstream protection was not to exceed? 20 amps.? So my
electrician wired it in accordingly and all it did was blow fuses.
I was steamed, the motor needs? a lot more inrush current to get started under? full load.? I wanted Felder to? pay the additional to have the old? wiring pulled and new laid. They had some guy who must have been a used car salesman to
gas-light me for a couple weeks? probably? intending that he would
be able to frustrate me to the point of abandoning my claim. My offer was to sue them but not? according to the agreement. I
was going to being them into NJ state court and ask the court to
reform the contractual terms? voiding their choice of laws and
choice of? venue clauses? which if? I succeeded would put them at
risk of being sued in all the various states in the nation instead
of forcing all litigants to go to Delaware.? I did not know if I'd
succeed but the Courts in my state? have been changing? rather
drastically and may have gone along. it'd have been way worse for
Felder hf that happened? than them paying a few? hundred for my
electrician. This process took weeks as I recall and it was infuriating. Avoid the possibility of all that crap by purchasing insurance.

I am so disappointed and frustrated.? Has anyone had a similar experience, and if so, how do I go about getting a new sliding table for the saw?? I was thinking the same as a fallback option. That is you could wire your machine similar to mine which does not require a PCB. Just a DIN rail is all you need and you can hardwire the selector switch connections. You could also add the brake board if you like.
I still think, it would be much less work, if yours could be fixed with help from Felder. In general, they are very good. You start a ticket online or by calling them. They will troubleshoot with your help on the phone. It does not cost you anything. Imran On Jan 5, 2022, at 9:34 AM, S.Ryan <seamieryan@...> wrote: |

Jeeze Louise! All of this is making me nervous. I am expecting delivery of my K700 in April. This happened to me when I ordered my jointer from Grizzly. It was a logistical nightmare working with them and something I wouldn't expect from Felder. With the price of our Felder toys, we should expect proper freighting. I think it would be in their best interest to do this right. Anyway, I wish you well and hope that the problem is resolved soon. Ed Cohen? E. Cohen Designs Easthampton,? MA?
