Re: Euro Guard on K700 #sawsetup
Schematics of the K vs. KF overhead saw guard and the locking/release latch that David is referring to. The overhead guard of a circa 2019 KF 700 SP rests on a carriage bolt when it is in its default

Re: Euro Guard on K700 #sawsetup
When I looked at upgrading from my K975, I explored the overhead guard swing-away capabilities of the Kappa 400 as well as the K700. This was in 2015, so things could have changed on the 700-series.

Re: Euro Guard on K700 #sawsetup
Mac: I recently put in another thread related to this issue, seeking a way to not have the verticle support stem for the Felder Overarm Guard "in the way" at the right side of the machine, with the

Re: KF 700 cutting a sheet of plywood in half
Also to clarify, I have the 49¡± rip capacity. My guard support actually has multiple holes that are unused but seem that it could be mounted further out by about 6-9¡± based on the hole locations

Re: KF 700 cutting a sheet of plywood in half
Glen is correct. I had the same setup on my K975 and my KF700. Some machines come standard with the ability to mount the support arm at the 31-inch or 49-inch clearance position irrespective of the

Re: KF 700 cutting a sheet of plywood in half
I do believe if I remember correctly that David Best has a 31" saw but got the 50" OH guard. But that was on a kappa. Glen Big Tree Woodworking P.O. Box 257 Avery Ca 95224

Re: KF 500 zero clearance saw insert
It's a shame that the K975 sliding tablesaw has 3 separate inserts, making a ZCI is difficult.

Re: KF 500 zero clearance saw insert
Hi James here is what I did for a k700 for a visual showing what John was describing ... You would have to remove it for an angle cut, I haven¡¯t made one for the angle I just use the stock insert

Re: KF 500 zero clearance saw insert
Hi Jim. I made a few at one time for the Hammer and 500 Series. But there wasn't that much demand at the time to make it worthwhile.? I'm just making them for the 700 series.?But with an investment

Re: KF 700 cutting a sheet of plywood in half
So Felder did tell me that guard could be positioned for either without modification however I just checked and it would need to be cut down a little and a hole or two drilled then it could be used

Re: KF 700 cutting a sheet of plywood in half
Mark, Looking at the K740 overhead dust collection on Felder USA website, I doubt the rip capacity is adjustable between 31 and 49.

Looking in the k700 manual shows the the KF mounts different than the k700 Regards, Mark

Re: KF 700 cutting a sheet of plywood in half
I haven¡¯t checked but I asked if I ordered the 49¡± and found that I didn¡¯t have enough space and wanted to change to the 31¡± i was told that the guard fits either Regards, Mark

Re: KF 700 cutting a sheet of plywood in half
Our two KF700's are both the 31" rip versions, neither with an overarm guard. With the riving knife mounted guard, nothing prevents you from cross cutting a sheet in half other than ours being short

Re: KF 700 cutting a sheet of plywood in half
Mark, My KF700 is a 2017 model. I ordered the 31" rip capacity model, cause the 49 would take too much space in the double car garage, I do not think the rip capacity is adjustable on the 2017 model.

Re: KF 700 cutting a sheet of plywood in half
I should have added that the overhead guard can be ordered to "fit" either rip capacity, but I am not sure if you ordered the 31" version you would be able to expand it to fit the larger rip capacity.

Re: KF 700 cutting a sheet of plywood in half
I have the 31" rip capacity and yes, the overhead guard would be in the way of you attempting to clear 48" right of blade. That is why I've been looking for a more custom solution w.r.t. the overhead

Re: KF 700 cutting a sheet of plywood in half
I would add to James's remark my first thought was that a track saw would seem very cheap compared to modifying the overhead guard again....then I thought, you can probably crosscut until you hit the

Re: KF 700 cutting a sheet of plywood in half
I don¡¯t know what year your saw is or if the overhead guard setup is the same as mine which is a 2019 k700s but mine can be installed in the 49 or the 31 position, so if yours is the same and you
