Re: K975 under table dust extraction problem.
Felder sells in meter increments, not for the size/application you need. Brian Lamb blamb11@... www.lambtoolworks.com

Re: K975 under table dust extraction problem.
You could also just buy the replacement hose from Felder. Then it will (likely) be the right length...

Re: dust collection question
you are correct on emptying but floor space that is easy to give up is behind the machine and not easy to access. emptying RL bin is much easier than a $200-$250 cheap DC. i gave the total length and

Re: dust collection question
I assumed you didn't want to empty a second bin, hence the rube goldberg arrangement. Not sure I understand your reluctance to empty a seconds bin.?? It's a zero sum game.? Your shaper is gonna

Re: Wire and breaker size for 7.5HP 3 Phase Felder Shaper - NEC Code compliant
My bad...I should have been clearer. In my case, it is a 1500 sq. ft. steel building for a small wood shop. Pulling larger gauge wire now for some unknown future use was worth it in my mind. To the
Re: dust collection question
i would like to avoid emptying another bin. no floor space would be list with wall mount. i am getting the feedback that it is best to just put a separate DC for shaper. imran

Re: Wire and breaker size for 7.5HP 3 Phase Felder Shaper - NEC Code compliant
99.99% pointless? I'm just saying it confers no benefit to the intended application.? Doesn't increase safety, doesn't make your saw work better, etc. Future-proofing is a totally different issue,

Over-sizing is common with some residential electricians and DIYers, where the incremental cost of doing so is not great.? At commercial scale, an electrician who routinely over-sizes is also known

Re: Wire and breaker size for 7.5HP 3 Phase Felder Shaper - NEC Code compliant
I am also wiring three-phase equipment off of a Phase Perfect with my biggest motor being a 7.5 HP. Although I didn't need to, I pulled #8 wire and will be using a 40 amp breaker. I was torn between a
Re: Wire and breaker size for 7.5HP 3 Phase Felder Shaper - NEC Code compliant
btw, what kind of panel do you have?? ?$100 for a breaker seems like a lot.? ? If you have SquareD, a 30amp 3P is $50 new on amazon:

Re: dust collection question
Sounds needlessly complex. Why not just use the collector stand alone for the shaper ?? You're already giving up the footprint and collection at the source is the most efficient. dave

Those prewires are on the other side of the shop. I will have to run conduit and wire to the new shaper

Randy, thanks for the correction. my brain plays tricks and for some reason thought that the housing tilts into the machine as opposed to away towards outside ??¡á???¡á???¡á? i

Re: K975 under table dust extraction problem.
Yes.. what Imran has suggested, works perfectly.. The trick, is to move the blade to a 45 degree position, take the hose and connect it to the dust port elbow on the blade housing and to the other end

Re: K975 under table dust extraction problem.
Phil, I believe Randy shared this flexible hose that has worked for me with no issues. it is available directly from supplier and also a bit cheaper from amazon.

K975 under table dust extraction problem.
I decided to once and for all sort out this problem in my 2006 machine. Not the flexible hosing prematurely rotting but the seemingly inevitable disconnect of one end of the tubing whenever the blade

Re: Wire and breaker size for 7.5HP 3 Phase Felder Shaper - NEC Code compliant
Joe, I believe you previously said you installed #6 or #8 wire, so while a 30A breaker is fine for you machine, you can also install a larger one for future-proofing.

Re: Wire and breaker size for 7.5HP 3 Phase Felder Shaper - NEC Code compliant
Size the breaker to the wire. Size the wire to the motor. For your F700z w 7.5 HP, #10 wire with 30 Amp breaker is plenty. David Best - via mobile phone
