Joe,

The following 40mm #031 profile cutter has cuts below the flat limiter edge.

I agree that the proper limiter is better but if you are power feeding it is fine to use the flat limiter. If hand feeding then the proper limiter is a nice safety feature. ?

When talking about the 40mm knives for these particular cutter heads I don¡¯t think any profiles have cuts below the flat limiter edge.? I think all profiles are from the flat limiter and out.

I remember struggling with getting knives and limiters for these cutter heads years ago.? I found that I could get knives from Guhdo or Felder at the time and Guhdo was much faster.? The knives and limiters were not widely available in the US around 2010 that I could find.? The fellow from Guhdo pointed out that I could use the flat limiter with any profile as long as power feeding and that was very helpful. ?

I had several of these cutter heads and would leave them set up, using flat limiters saved money.? I had two cutter heads set up for tongue and groove.

You could make the argument that it would be better than nothing, but only if absolutely no part of that straight knife protruded beyond any part of the cutters projection.? Best to have both made for eachother....
