As long as someone can draw these up in CAD or similar compatible software, there are online companies you can upload the program file to that will then 3D print out the items from the file for a set fee. Though to reduce the price I suggest that whoever does the drawing to make the final drawing such that it is 1 piece so to speak where all the 6 pieces are connected together like/similar as is done on model car parts where you then break/cut off each piece as needed & then file off the nub. You could also have 3 or 6 individual files for each one/size for those that just need one or to. After you then just paint the part. There are now modern paints/painting systems that when done look like Chrome & hold up way better than the rattle can so called "chrome" paints that don't holdup & the shine wipes off with your finger. That said, this is the same company/entity that got the 68/69 Fairlane/Torino Front & then more recently rear bumpers re-popped by AMD. I have one of these rear bumpers which was gotten direct from AMD (a few years ago at a cost savings). Though I have not installed it as of yet. I did open it to check/inspect it & it looked & felt good with good weight & steel thickness/gauge matching the originals. Also as an FYI back when I was looking into getting the bumpers I called Tamraz's directly & I could have gotten a much better deal direct from them on the price of the bumpers vs going through Ebay as going direct to the seller it saves the seller Ebay fees. So IF you are interested I suggest you go direct to/call Tamraz's and inquire on getting better pics & also a better price by not going through Ebay to get them (unless Ebay is running a special & offers you a coupon, which they do from time to time and/or you have "Ebay Bucks" saved up to use). To add to the above IF you know someone that has good connections with AMD and has an account (buys a lot from them) you might be able to get an even better price by getting those items that are made by AMD directly from AMD. Re: New 69 Fastback Sail Panel Trim now available!!
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHello David and Everyone Else, So first, 3D printing is a great option for small parts. And you don't have to consider plastic as your only medium. There are now metal deposit printers that create a part quickly and it is super strong. But none of these give a great finish. You WILL have to sand it, but the metal can be polished quite well and then chrome plated or clear coated and looks pretty good. As for the CAD, there is an app for your phone. You put your part on a small pedestal, then you walk around it with your camera phone and take the 360 import video and the program creates the 3D CAD file that can be then edited to make sure there are no anomalies. Once corrected you send that to your favorite online 3D printer solution. I found after many years and NOS part for an 83 Capri. They are unobtainium and used cracked ones sell for $400 or more on ebay. Seriously stupid money. I took the part and scanned it, then had it reversed and we made two small modifications to improve the desire where they always break. Then, and this pissed off a LOT of people, I put the 3D cad file up on the internet for free and gave it away. I know of many people who have used the file to print their part. All of them said they had to sand the part because it wasn't very smooth. But once painted to match the rest of the trim, it didn't matter. So if I was to revisit this, I would edit the CAD file to add one or two thousands thickness on the visible surface to allow for better final finish. AMD is a great company and fully backed by Ford, I wish we had more manufactures making parts with their same level of dedication and support from Ford. Lastly, it is so very GREAT to see this list have some action. I have been working on my Convertible this year and getting ready to do some lead work, been years since I have done it, but I am going to make it happen. Best to all, stay safe and sound. --============================================================ I am Linc..... I have both the Maroon & Blue ones still New in the Box. Got them from BJ's Wholesale for $9.95 each. Back then I searched for a White one at BJ's but no luck & didn't know there was the Gold version. They sold out quick & shortly after that the price shot up other places to at least $29.95 and more. I gave my one nephew a Maroon one back then, he couldn't resist opening it & my sister didn't stop/prevent him from opening it & playing with it. He broke the front wheel off it. Had they made sure it was left in the box untouched it would have gone up in value (at least $20 from what I paid for it). :(. Overall, very minor issues. I can't see if the shocks are correct; but, the attention to detail on this car is impressive. I believe that the buyer will be getting a deal, as it would cost much more than this to bring a car to this level. It also is still at least half the market price of its MOPAR competition. That being said, I don't have the necessary pocket change to buy this one, nor would I take this little for mine that I had at the nationals. -----Original Message-----
