Re: Eurovan mechanic in SF Bay area with transmission experience
Michael Dinger at Valley Wagonworks in San Rafael is the best Eurovan mechanic in the Bay area. He did my timing chain system, and checked my transmission, about 6 years ago and no problems since.

Eurovan mechanic in SF Bay area with transmission experience
Can any of the group recommend a competent VW mechanic that is willing to service the transmission of a 2002 Eurovan GL in the San Fracico Bay Area ? Also has anyone had their timing chain overhauled

Re: Eurovan tire load rating
What matters is the actual load index. Where the "C" rating comes in (denoting Commercial, not load range C - they are different) is that if the tire is not a truck (commercial) tire its functioning

Google "tire lifetime" and see why you should have replaced them years ago! 10 yr old tires are unsafe! sam 02 EVC

Re: Antenna
I mount all of my antennas on the luggage bar on my 02 EVC ( I think this won't work for the WE since I think it doesn't have the luggage bar) I have the AM.FM , HAM radio, and satellite radio

Re: Antenna
The shark fin ones really don't perform that well. Their main attribute is that they look good and don't get ripped of in car washes. In order to work at all, they need to be amplified, which they

Re: Sliding door lock
Locks are electric, not vacuum. Pull the door card and git to it. Small white plastic clips get brittle, levers disconnect, the electric pins (4) can get corroded. Be careful pulling the door card

Re: Antenna
Not aware of any retractible (electric) that will fit the stock location. Battery limits space available. I've been searching for an amplified antenna, I'd love to put a 'shark fin' style on the roof

Re: Mechanic for 01 EV WK in Chicago?
Not sure if the 01 Eurovan uses the pass through bolts on the oil pan like the 1993... if so... if you are missing any oil pan bolts or if they are loose, your EV will leak oil. I only found this out

Re: Oil around MAF sensor
It is very common to get oil build up there over a long period of time. It is part of emission control system that is recycling vapor from under the valve cover back into the air intake system.
