Suggests to me that you should change the lambda sensor and see where that takes it. They are consumables anyway (50k miles IIRC) If you can read data then check temp sensors are reading something

When you changed the plugs did you look at them to see any thing different about 3 and 5 plug, they are next to each other at back engine. Could be a leak and it burns off. Could pull plug on coil and

Slavic, You were spot on.? funny, VW dealer stated, of $450 and we'll change the sensor and that will fix everything.... they even asked if the Transmission was rebuilt... I told them yes it was 6000

The "easy" fix if there is a problems with the axles. But one of my guesses is that the differential is on the way out. The gears can seeze if there is low fluid level in final drive. Eurovan
