Replace AC/Heater control module

Hello All... I need to replace the AC/Heater control on my 1997 EVC. Part # VW 7D1 820 045 A. I've looked a bit online but have been unable to find a source that actually has the part. Anyone have a suggestion on how to find one of these? Thanks! ?Rhodney

For the coolant, I know it¡¯s supposed to be ¡®orange¡¯ color but I Always use a commercial product instead of the real VW one and never had trouble with that !!

In the first picture, where the line is that has that small, green cap.? There's supposed to be a vacuum hose connected to that.

Also,? in the event you don't know, you've got the wrong coolant in your system.??

Hi,

I noticed that a small tube in the engine bay of my '97EVC was not connected. I'm including some photos of that tube and where it's located and coming from. I'd like to know if this must be connected somewhere or is it supposed to stay loose ? Thanks.

Hi John,

?

Thanks for the photo but are you sure that this small tube goes there ? Can you resend another photo showing that area that you indicated with an ¡®arrow¡¯ ? It¡¯s a very small black tube and not long (about a foot long) !!! I had a mechanic change my timing chain last year and I suspect that he didn¡¯t reconnect all the things correctly....

Re: Suggestions after EVC has been sitting for months

IMHO, I¡¯d agree with Joshua on the local driving first, also I¡¯d run a can of Sea Foam thru what gas you have in the tank or at least a half tank of gas too. If it¡¯s been a while and your in a humid climate, I¡¯d then change the fuel filter, especially if you don¡¯t typically use tier two gas. ?

Re: Norcold not clicking on propane #Norcold

most likely it is the relighter board.? ?I have re-habbed 3 of these now and the board is always bad.? ?It has a coil that sends higher voltage to the ignitor, after it senses (through the thermocouple and interrupter switch) that the flame has gone out.? you can buy them for about $125 online from a few sources.

Re: 12 volt electric outlets

Paula,

The battery gauge under the fridge indicates the condition of the house battery not the vehicle battery.? Your assumption is correct.

Re: Suggestions after EVC has been sitting for months

Fuel filter only needs to be changed based on mileage, or due to a contamination event. I would plan on doing some local driving to work out any kinks from the recent work, and evaluate for any other problems during that.

Re: Norcold not clicking on propane #Norcold

It could be that the 1 A fuse that feeds the relighter is bad, or some other wiring fault. Investigate that before you replace the relighter/igniter.

You should also follow the diagnostic chart in this service manual:

Page 14 has the relevant info.

Suggestions after EVC has been sitting for months

Hello.? Our EVC has been in Transmission rebuild shop since April this year and is finally getting put back together.? Assuming the VAN has been sitting in the summer sun, what sort of things should I probably get replaced before any type of road trip?? Was thinking Fuel Filter and connectors, Oil Change... anything else?

Thanks,

Maurice '02 EVC

Norcold not clicking on propane #Norcold

Norcold worked great most of the summer.? Then last week on propane no clicking or lighting when the red button is pushed.? Battery mode cools great when driving.? Igniter is 3 years old.? I'm thinking of pulling it out, looking for loose wires, then ordering another igniter.? Any thoughts?? Thanks

12 volt electric outlets

Yesterday I had difficulty starting my EVC 2001 after 4 days of camping. I had traveled for about 3 hours and I recently replaced the battery and alternator. Today it started right up.?

it¡¯s my impression that the 12 volt outlet under the stove used electricity from the house battery and the battery gauge above the fridge indicates the remaining capacity of the house battery. Is this correct?

Thanks,
