Re: EVC Fresh Water Line Replacement?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI just took a look at? mine. If you pull out the utensil drawer you can see where the flex line connects to the sink drain and you can see if there are any dips in the line. I? seem to have tie-wrapped mine to a piece of wood behind the sink. I can send a photo if you would like. Sam 02EVC On 5/8/2021 11:59 PM, Richard Hom

Re: EVC Fresh Water Line Replacement?
I pulled my entire camper side out as one unit a few years back. There are really only about 5 screws holding it in. This allowed me to redo the planing lines, upgrade the pump itself, redo the copper piping to the stove etc. Took a few photos along the way. Once you have the fridge and shelves out, and have pulled the screws, the whole skeleton will slide right out the back. Don't forget about the screw in the top of the wardrobe. It's well hidden.?

Re: EVC Fresh Water Line Replacement?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI fixed the slow drain problem in our 02EVC ( many years ago) by
making sure there were no dips in the flex drain line ( i.e.-
there is always a downward slope of the line). I think I used a
bunch of tie-wraps to secure the line to "something" (don't
remember what).? I wouldn't bother replacing the drain line unless
it is leaking. The water lines will probably outlast the rest of
the EVC. We've frozen our lines a couple of times (including the
pump) by camping at 11,000 ft in CO and NM. Didn't hurt the lines-
but had to replace the pump. Sam 02EVC On 5/8/2021 11:59 PM, Richard Hom

EVC Fresh Water Line Replacement?
Richard Hom
Hi All,
My wife and I have owned a 2002 EVC for 9 years and try to maintain it in excellent, ready-to-go-camping-at-anytime condition.? I've done a fair amount of DIY maintenance over the years, re-built the propane section of the Norcold, replaced the converter with a smart charger, installed a back-up cam, added a battery monitor, solar, LED lighting, and more.? Haven't had any issues with the fresh water system until recently, the sink is now draining more slowly than in the past.?? I'm about to remove the rear cabinet panel under the sink area to inspect the drain system.? I expect that I'll want to replace the drain hose.? While I have this area exposed, should I also consider replacing the rest of the fresh water lines as well?? I don't know what the lifespan of these water lines may be.? We live in an area of central California that does not experience winter freezing.? As previously mentioned, no problems until the current sink draining issue. I like to do preventive maintenance whenever advisable, but would like to defer the wisdom of this group.? Sometimes it's better to leave things that are working well, alone. Thank you for your help! i did that repair about 10 years ago but I¡¯m pretty sure I used 1 inch wide doouble sided 3 m tape. ?I redid the entire piece. ?Make notes on placement.? I think I had to cut it width-wise a bit which is fun,due to its stickyness, and as I recall I cleaned up the area as well as possible on both the rubber and van. I don¡¯t recall what I cleaned it (probably alcohol, goo gone, elbow grease and who knows what) with but I recall that being the time consuming part. It¡¯s still on tight. YMMV. Happy trails. Torn rubber thing above windshield MV westfalia
I don't really know how else to explain it. The rubber wind deflector ? It's on a eurovan mv westfalia. The corner has started to rip with the glued side still stuck to the paint. Anyone know what type of glue would work to adhere the piece back onto the torn bit? I was thinking contact cement but understand you really only get one chance at it.?

Re: Selling my 97 full camper - what are these things really worth?
As a quick check look over the prices being asked in ¡°The Samba¡± classified for Eurovans. That¡¯s where we found our 95 that had 285K miles (currently has 298K) listed for 20K and we ended up paying 15K after seeing the ad again months after passing when it was listed for 20K. Good luck. Re: Selling my 97 full camper - what are these things really worth?
$60K ??? It will depend on where it is, where you live. 60K might be a little high but the 5 spd. manual transmission, etc. certainly makes it worth more than the run of the mill '97. If the west coast, North West, Western Canada, maybe Colorado it should easily bring 40k. Kent Kirkley

All the camping equipment works, i.e. Norcold - DC/AC and propane; furnace; pop top screens recently replaced; Bilstien HD shocks recently installed; heater mixer box flaps recently repaired and heater core replaced; van was repainted 4 years ago but has slight rust on driver side door panel. It runs great and has no oil leaks.

Justin is absolutely correct, I know nothing of?
Eurovan Westphalia MV? we never got those in Canada, it was the full
campers, the busses, and the diesels.

Wow! Thanks so much for the detailed response. Regarding the water, yes the previous owner mentioned the line would keep breaking so he just capped it off. That is a lot of screws to get at a battery....lol. I'm thinking I would like to run a mini inverter up from it for some device charging. Is it the same charging method? Solenoid at the front? Also when shore powered, is there an inverter in play? Oddly l had no idea so many differences.?

Ok welcome to the Westphalia world.?? So to get at
the rv battery, it is in the rear on the driver's side.?? Open
the rear hatch and work from the outside to the interior.? Remove
the rear mattress behind the back seat. ? Second you remove the bed
board in the rear by retracting the catches on either side and pulling
the board towards you , it just pops out.?? Then you remove
the? purple rail on the driver's side by undoing about 4 phillips
head screws,??? You have to remove all of the hardware on
that side that supports the bed board.? Then there are two or 3
large flat head screws that hold the driver's side interior panel that
you need to remove or loosen, then remove that panel.?? In
behind is your rv battery or batteries.?? You would be
surprised at how many 20 year old original VW batteries I would find
still installed when doing restorations because the owner's had no idea
there was an "extra" battery!

The other big thing to check is the rear shore water connection, chances are the waterline froze and split inside the wall? and when you try and add fresh water to the screw on outlet the water pours across the floor under the bed..?? The interior pipe replacement is a real bear. I sold most of my Eurovan stuff but there is a lot I can still recall from memory/nightmares! Reg ex 22 2Eurovan Westphaliia, Winnebagos, Rialtas and I?
