Re: Gas Tank is releasing dangerous fumes
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYou need to have your evaporative fuel system looked at. Re: {Disarmed} Gas Tank is releasing dangerous fumes
? Hello Dan - readers: This topic has arisen and been discussed within the past year. It is not uncommon for the fuel tank Vent in VW Evs to become filled (clogged) with fuel - this usually occurs when the tank is filled, but additional fuel is (forced to top-off) pumped in (? trying to get to a round $ or whatever)..On Sat, Jun 20, 2015 at 9:46 AM, TYA2 tya2@... I believe the tank vent is clogged.

Have you considered checking your fuel filter? you are right is sounds like fuel starvation.

AC NOT WORKING
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIm having a problem that just started today.? The climate control is not really working.? No matter where I set the temp, the front fans do not go on.? The rear overhead fans come on but are very low.? There is no cold air coming out anywhere if I put it on low.? If I crank the heat the fans still do not come on.? The defrost does not work either. I checked all fan and climate fuses and they are OK.? Any suggestions? It is an 03 EV MV. ? Thanks, Bryan |
Gas Tank is releasing dangerous fumes
A few weeks ago, I smelled gas coming from under my 97 EVC.
I have been unable to find the cause. The smell has been intermittent, three
times over a one-month period. When it comes it is strong, but not
overpowering. I can find no drips under the van or signs of leaks. After a few
hours the smell dissipates. Each time it coincided with a 100 plus mile trip in
hot weather (90 degrees.)
Yesterday I was able to make a diagnosis.? The tank seems to be under considerable pressure.? After yesterdays trip I once again smelled gas. I opened the gas cap and a rush of fumes expelled for a good couple of minutes until it finally stopped. This is the first time I noticed this, though previously I may not have opened the cap until the van had been at rest for several hours. I am assuming that the tank has a pressure release vent that may be clogged. If this is the problem, how do I go about fixing it? But even if this is the problem, why would the tank be pressurized? I would have thought the opposite would occur. And why would the condition be intermittent? I fear that I am driving a time bomb that could literally explode. I won¡¯t be driving until I solve the problem. Does anyone have insight into this problem? I¡¯d appreciate any advice or insights. By the way, I am currently in Santa Fe in case anyone knows of a good shop in this area. ? Thanks, Dan

Re: P1582 idle adaptation 2000 Eurovan MV
I had the same code on my 2000 GLS and tried all the reset procedures, but never cleaned the throttle body. ?I thought the code tripped because I had the battery disconnected for a pretty long period of time. ?Since the van ran fine I just kept driving it and the CEL went out on its own.

P1582 idle adaptation 2000 Eurovan MV
Mark Hollingsworth
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI'm having the?P1582 idle adaptation?code,I went through the reset throttle body procedure (after cleaning etc)- even disconnected battery overnight. It went away for awhile- then came back. I know all the stuff the books says to check- but what seems to happen most often? I checked for leaks my old standby method (spray carb cleaner, engine speed change means a leak) but realized with an auto idle engine that may not be as effective. Any tips are gladly accepted. Re: Part question Door
Update - ?part came (about 33 with shipping) and i just finished installing it.
pretty easy once you realize that there are 3 screws behind the speaker that need to be removed also. Overall i 'd say its a 2/10 in difficulty and a 4/10 in patience. Next up, left front brake squeak, likely a stuck caliper. ?I let the mechanics deal with that one. Florian 03 MVWK. |

Re: My Eurovan Cylinders 3, 4 and 5 has no power
Thanks Long, Can I replace ECU with 1 from any other wrecked EV, same year? Hall Sensor? Where is that? Thanks for the reminder on the mixed spark plug wires, but I always check it against rotor rotation. On Friday, June 19, 2015 4:55 AM, "gysz@... [ev_update]" wrote:

Fuel injectors, maybe? ECU?
On my BMW first fuel injector didn't fire because of bad computer! Engine ran very rough! You have to target why you have no power in those cylinders if compression OK! Fuel or sparks! You have spark, but is the firing order correct?? Mixed spark plug wires, bad distributor cap , bad hall sensor etc... |
