Any way - I have connected to the 5-pin for the left side but I am still

I would put the disconnect on the positive side.?That way there is no positive voltage in any of your house wiring. You may find my post helpful about installing a disconnect:

Technically, it never matters which side you disconnect.? The reason for disconnecting ground is that if a wire happens to get away from you, there won't be any sparks if it touches something else.?

I don't have a pic, but if I remember correctly the wiper motor is way off to-the right side (passenger of the liftgate. My bad - should have taken a pic. The wiper linkage is still in the middle

Sounds like a great alternate location¡.. but that wiper motor may be a
problem if it went straight up¡.
And agree is the bed is made up or stuff stacked at the back it is hard to
get your finger

Mine has a hole to get at this liftgate release. It is below the rear board that supports the sleeping area and is a real PITA to get to? - esp if the rear deck is loaded with stuff. Not ideal in a
