Re: Bentley paper vs. electronic, for a 2000 Eurovan?
I have the Bentley DVD version, runs on XP on an old laptop I have. Initially I found it very confusing and hard to navigate. I would say it's not very intuitive but I think a lot of windows based programs to be that way. It does cover Eurovans up to 2003. I wish manuals, repair or descriptive would actually show you how to take something apart rather than just saying 'remove', and then 'reverse' the procedure. I don't have the printed 3 volume set but have seen it. Kent Kirkley '97EVC -----Original Message-----

The question is: which one?
If I go to they show the printed Repair Manual, but it's listed as covering 1992-1999.
Does that cover the 2000?
This is confusing, as in most divisions, the 2000 falls within the 1997-2000 group, although there are some "early 2000" / "late 2000" differences I've seen with certain parts.
If you search for the DVD version, some places are offering it for a mere $1000-2000!
I found one place offering the DVD for $99 and claims to have it in stock:
to run the DVD version, I'd probably just create a Windows 2000 virtual machine (VM) and put it on my MacBook air...

开云体育Hi Bob,Really sorry to hear of your illness. Always enjoyed your straight-fwd, matter-of-fact posts and your insight.? I recently went to the sorta dark side and bought a 2006 Ford Econoline Sportsmobile. ?I’ll be selling my ‘02 Weekender, but please know my tires were always set at 44/39 thanks to you.? Be well. Just has to replace mine last fall. My mechanic found one, somewhere, no idea where, but he said they are extremely hard to come by. Good luck. And don’t EVER top off your tank...like I did the first 6 years I owned mine. ? Mac J On Jun 17, 2021, at 3:55 PM, Michael Diehr <md03@...> wrote: |

Re: EVC Solar Power 2021
开云体育Indeed - my house battery relay failed, and I replaced it with the wrong model which failed, then tried to repair it, which also failed, then finally bought the correct replacement. The basic problem was that the contacts were corroded, providing a high resistance path, so house battery charging was not zero, but was quite poor. 开云体育Bob -?I am so sorry to hear of your illness. That sucks, to put it mildly. I hope you are able to be comfortable. I am not a DIYer by any means - I can check the oil and eyeball the coolant level but I have always enjoyed reading your posts. The information is valuable & I can pass it along to my mechanic as needed. Thanks to you and others in this group my van keeps humming along. Kate A 2003 Weekender ex 1993 MV |

1995 EVC Torsion Bar Bushing?
Bernie Johnsen
Our 95 EVC has been making an odd clunk from the front right corner for about 2 years now.? Originally I would hear it maybe once a month and it was crazy loud.? Almost sounded like something heavy and metal broke or shifted very quickly when I was on the brakes and then sometimes when I accelerated again.? Usually happens when braking and turning to full lock and back while backing into the garage door or other slow braking/turning hard. Over time the sound has decreased in intensity dramatically but increased proportionally in frequency.? Now when I hear it it usually sounds like something is rattling or loose but you can still tell that it is suspension related and seems like a heavy component. Finding anyone in the Colorado Springs area that will even look at Eurovan, including VW speciality shops I've called, has been difficult.? I brought it to a small local shop that has done some other work for me to diagnose the?problem but they are mostly domestic vehicles and don't have any real speciality.? They could hear it, however, they suggested I take it to a suspension shop for a full diagnosis since it wasn't obvious. I found a shop that specializes in Porsche/Audi/VW who does everything from Porsche race prep to air cooled VWs.? They seem to be pretty familiar with Eurovans and I've seen one or two at the shop the few times I've been there. This shop has had a look at it twice.? The first time they too couldn't quite pinpoint it and said to bring it back when it was more frequent.? About a month later, and now with the noise more frequent, I brought it back.? They still aren't sure what the noise is but have checked all the usual stuff like ball joints, looked for any loose stuff, etc.? They now 'think' it is the torsion bar bushing.? This page sorta corroborates their thinking: ? " worn torsion bar bushings can cause a clunk noise when going over bumps" I'm told this is one of those fun jobs that takes hours to replace a pretty inexpensive part. They say I should brace for about $800 for labor since a ton of the suspension has to be completely disassembled to get to this bushing. So my questions are these:

Re: Axle unit 95 euro & shock bolt
As it?turns out I actually just got it out. Hammering in the 12 sided Allen using an air racket which wasn’t enough. Then slowly just using a breaker bar and a few Hail Marys.? Now to find a piece of wood to hold up that upper arm!!! VW Tool 3250 ? Thanks for the suggestions and support.? I wasn’t 100% on using 5 bolts just worst case thinking.?
