I forgot to mention something important about awnings. The first one I
had was jettisoned from the vehicle at highway speeds! It was the
Carefree unit but branded with the eurovan logo(is that worth twice the
price?). We were driving thru the panhandle of Texas with a major
(50mph) crosswind. The darn aluminum box was blown open by the wind
and the awning was released and blew off the van with lots of noise
and, dare I say, "fanfare".
The moral of the story: Use additional strapping on these units to
keep the box closed! The two plastic latches on each end are not
sufficient.
