If the starter doesn't go when you turn the key, that's most likely a totally different problem than if the starter goes but the motor doesn't start. "No starter" is usually a relatively simple thing to figure out... - not in Park or Neutral (I have seen this more times than you'd think!) - weak battery (try a boost start?) - poor (dirty) battery connections - poor connections in small wire to solenoid - bad ignition switch - bad neutral safety switch (try starting in Neutral) - bad starter or starter solenoid Turn the headlights on... they should be turned off automatically when you turn the key to start. If not, that suggests something in the key switch or related wiring. I have sometimes connected 12v from the battery to the small wire on the starter solenoid. If it cranks, starter is OK, problem is somewhere in the circuit from the battery to the key to the starter solenoid. Can't comment on the CEL and coil...
