Re: Name Your Camper!

better on rough roads and able to go off-road.
Man, I hear you there. I've creepy crawled my Weekender on some
pretty rough stuff, picking my way past big rocks, down some sandy
washes, and have even done a few stream crossing with it, but it's
always a harrowing experience and I am always with another vehicle.

I mean, can it really be the ultimate camper if it can't get to the
ultimate camping spot? I don't go up 4x4 roads a ton... but I sure
like to from time to time.

My solution is a truck with a Sportz Truck bed tent for those times
when I'm itchin to get to my "nobody comes here cause the road is
bad" camping spots.

I just load up the same gear for camping as I take in my Weekender,
and I'm good to go...

For all the other times, I'm rolling in the VW.

It was a good camper. Fun to drive, good fuel mileage, good
camper design and
everything worked. It had fairly high mileage (116,000) and I was
concerned about
maintenance and upkeep and lack of knowledge and support from
Volkswagen. We also
wanted something with a wider bed, less maintenance, better on
rough roads and able to
go off-road.

This group was one of the best things about owning one! Lots of
knowledgable people
devoted to VW campers. Keep it up!

May your transmissions keep shifting and your Norcolds keep
cooling!

van's writing.
Kind of funny!

Ours is named "Whitehorse" after the town in Yukon, Canada along
the
Alaska highway. Saying the name brings memories of an awesome 6-
week
adventure that started just a couple of months after WH joined
our
family.
